B2B Appointment Setter — Local US Businesses, Website Offer, $1,000 Commission
Worldwide
Set appointments for a US web design and growth firm. $1,000 per deal that closes and pays. I run Ascendly (https://getascendly.co/). We build websites for local US businesses: plumbers, HVAC and electrical companies, dentists, chiropractors, law firms, med spas, landscapers, small retailers. The kind of business that either has no website at all or has one their nephew built in 2016 that hasn't sent them a customer since. One price, $5,000. That covers competitor research, design, build, SEO, and local search setup, and conversion work so the site actually turns visitors into calls and booked jobs. Delivered in about 15 business days. No monthly hosting games, no surprise line items. I need someone to get on the phone and book me time with these owners. What you'd actually do: - Call from a list I provide. Businesses I've already screened for no website or a bad one, sorted by city and trade. - Talk to the owner. Not the receptionist, not a voicemail box. The owner. - Find out if they're a fit: do they have a site, are they getting calls from it, do they want more work, can they spend $5,000. - Book a 30-minute call on my calendar. - Log the call outcome and notes so we both know what's working. I run the sales call and close the deal. You are not selling the $5,000 build over the phone (although if you do, I will pay out an extra $500). The money, stated plainly You earn $1,000 for every deal that closes from an appointment you booked. Paid through Upwork as a fixed-price milestone within 5 business days of the client's payment landing. There is no hourly base. That's the deal, and I want to be straight with you about what it means before you apply: You're betting on my close rate as much as your own dialing. I close roughly one in four qualified calls that actually show up. So a booked, qualified, held meeting is worth about $250 to you in expectation. There's a lag. Somebody you book this week signs next week and pays the week after. Your first payment is probably 2 to 3 weeks out from your first productive day. I'm not going to pretend that's a great deal for somebody who needs money on Friday. If that's you, this isn't the right gig and I'd rather you skip it than start and disappear. Two things I'll commit to so the risk isn't all yours: - 90-day credit protection. Any business you book stays credited to you for 90 days. If they cancel, ghost, or say "call me after the holidays" and then sign in month three, you still get the $1,000. - No-show doesn't void it. If they miss the call and I reschedule them, it's still your booking. If you consistently produce, I'll move you to a base-plus-commission plan. I'd rather do that with someone who's proven they can dial than promise it to a stranger. What you need to bring: - Native or near-native US English. You're calling small-town business owners who hang up on anything that sounds like a call center. Neutral accent is fine. Heavy accent is a real problem for this specific list, and I'd be wasting your time saying otherwise. - Your own phone system with a US number and caller ID. I'll reimburse a reasonable monthly cost once you've booked your first meeting. - Real B2B cold calling experience. Not chat, not email, not lead lists. Phone. - 20+ hours a week during 9am to 5pm across US time zones. These owners answer in the morning and after 4pm. Rules I don't bend on: - Manual dial only. No autodialers, no predictive dialers, no ringless voicemail, no SMS blasts. I don't care how well it works for you elsewhere. - No fake names, no pretending to be a past vendor, no "I'm calling about your Google listing" bait. You say who you are and who you're calling for. - No calls before 8am or after 8pm local to the business. - You represent Ascendly. If I hear you were rude to somebody's front desk, we're done. To apply: Skip the cover letter template. I'll read four things: - A 60-second voice recording. Pretend you've got a plumbing company owner on the line who has no website and is busy. Open the call and try to book a meeting. Any recording app is fine, drop the link. - Where you've done B2B cold calling before, what you were selling, and what your dials-to-booked-meeting rate was. - What time zone you're in and what hours you'd actually be dialing. - Your honest read on the commission-only structure. If you think it's a bad deal, tell me why. I'll take a straight answer over enthusiasm. Start with the word "dialtone" so I know you read this. I'm hiring one person, and I'll make the decision within a week.
