B2B Cold Caller / Appointment Setter — Local Small Business Website Service
Worldwide
## B2B Cold Caller / Appointment Setter — Local Small Business Website Service We are looking for a confident, personable cold caller to contact small business owners throughout the United States on behalf of our website service. ### What You'll Be Doing Your primary responsibility will be making outbound calls to small businesses that we have already identified as potential customers. **You will NOT be responsible for finding leads.** We will provide you with a list of businesses to contact, including the information needed to make the call. Many of these businesses either do not currently have a website or have a very limited online presence. Your job is to contact the business, speak with the owner or decision-maker whenever possible, briefly introduce our website service, generate interest, and move interested businesses to the next step. We want these calls to feel like genuine conversations — not scripted telemarketing calls. ### The Basic Conversation A typical call might start by introducing yourself and explaining that you are calling because you noticed the business does not currently have a website. From there, you would briefly explain that our company builds affordable websites for small businesses and determine whether the owner would be interested in seeing what we can do for their business. We will provide you with the offer, important talking points, answers to common questions, and guidance for handling objections. However, we do NOT want someone who simply reads a script word-for-word. We want a caller who can listen to the business owner, respond naturally, answer basic questions, handle simple objections, and keep the conversation relaxed. ### Your Goal on Each Call The goal is NOT to pressure someone into buying something over the phone. Your goal is to: * Reach the owner or appropriate decision-maker. * Quickly explain why you're calling. * Start a natural conversation about their current website/online presence. * Explain our website service in simple terms. * Determine whether they are genuinely interested. * Handle basic objections and questions. * Move interested owners to the next step with our company. * Accurately record the outcome of each call. * Note businesses that should be called again later. For example, if an owner says: *"Most of our customers come from word of mouth, so we don't really need a website."* We want someone who can comfortably continue that conversation rather than immediately giving up or reading a canned response. ### The Type of Caller We're Looking For Phone presence is extremely important to us. Our customers are American small-business owners, so you must have **excellent spoken English and be extremely easy for U.S. customers to understand.** You should sound: * Friendly * Confident * Conversational * Professional * Relaxed * Personable You should NOT sound like you're reading from a call-center script. Previous experience making B2B cold calls to U.S. businesses is strongly preferred. Experience selling or setting appointments for websites, digital marketing, SEO, advertising, SaaS, or other services sold to small businesses would be a major plus. ### What We Provide We will provide: * Leads/businesses to call * Contact information * Information about our service * Basic calling framework/script * Pricing and offer information * Common objection responses * Instructions for qualifying interested businesses * A simple system for recording call results You can focus on what you do best: **talking to business owners and generating opportunities.** ### Long-Term Opportunity We are looking for someone we can build a long-term working relationship with. We will begin with a smaller test period so that we can make sure we work well together. If you consistently make quality calls, communicate well, and generate interested business owners, there is an opportunity for steady ongoing work and increased responsibility as the business grows. We care much more about the **quality of your conversations and results** than simply seeing a huge number of calls. ### When Applying Please tell us about your previous cold-calling experience, particularly any experience calling U.S. small businesses. Please include: 1. How many years of cold-calling experience you have. 2. What types of businesses/products you've called for. 3. Whether you've previously cold-called U.S. businesses. 4. Your experience with B2B appointment setting or sales. 5. Your normal hourly rate. 6. Your availability during U.S. business hours. **Please also include a short voice recording or introduction with your application.** Because this position involves speaking directly with our potential customers, your phone presence and spoken English will be one of the most important factors in our hiring decision.
