B2B Lead Generation & Business Development Specialist for Corporate Sales
Worldwide
B2B Lead Generation & Business Development Specialist for Corporate Sales About the project We are an established business-to-business merchandise, printing and corporate branding company operating in Papua New Guinea. We supply corporate organisations with customised apparel, promotional merchandise, signage, printing and branded products for events, staff programs, marketing campaigns and corporate requirements. We are looking for an experienced B2B Lead Generation & Business Development Specialist to help us build a consistent pipeline of qualified corporate prospects. This is not primarily a social media posting role. We want someone who understands B2B prospecting, lead generation, decision-maker identification, LinkedIn outreach, email outreach and appointment setting. The successful freelancer will work closely with our local sales team. Your role is to identify the right organisations and people, create meaningful conversations and generate qualified sales opportunities that our sales team can follow up and close. What you will be responsible for 1. B2B prospect research Research organisations that are likely to purchase: • Corporate uniforms and apparel • Promotional merchandise • Branded corporate products • Event merchandise • Signage and printing • Staff gifts and recognition products • Conference and exhibition merchandise • Marketing and promotional materials Priority sectors include: • Mining and resources • Construction • Government and statutory organisations • NGOs and development organisations • Banking and financial services • Telecommunications • Shipping and logistics • Hotels and hospitality • Professional services • Schools and universities • Large corporate organisations • Events and conferences 2. Identify decision makers Identify the appropriate decision makers within each organisation, including: • Procurement Managers • Marketing Managers • HR Managers • Administration Managers • Events Managers • Corporate Affairs Managers • Executive Assistants • Office Managers • Business Development Managers We are interested in quality contacts, not simply large databases. 3. Lead generation and outreach Use appropriate tools and methods such as: • LinkedIn / Sales Navigator • Apollo • Hunter • Email verification tools • CRM systems • Targeted email campaigns • LinkedIn outreach • Other legitimate B2B prospecting tools You should be able to develop an outreach strategy rather than simply send generic mass emails. 4. Generate qualified opportunities The ultimate objective is to generate: • Genuine conversations with decision makers • Requests for information • Requests for quotations • Invitations to tender or quote • Meetings with potential customers • Opportunities for our local sales representatives to pursue We are interested in sales opportunities, not vanity metrics. Follower numbers, impressions and likes are secondary. Initial 30-day deliverables During the first month, we expect you to: • Research at least 100 relevant organisations • Identify at least 150 relevant decision makers • Build a clean and verified prospect database • Develop target customer segments • Prepare targeted outreach campaigns • Conduct at least 100 targeted outreach activities • Track responses and follow-ups • Identify qualified sales opportunities • Provide a weekly progress report • Provide a complete 30-day performance report As an initial benchmark, we would like to see approximately: 100+ target organisations 150+ decision makers 100+ verified contacts 100+ targeted outreach activities 15+ meaningful responses 8+ qualified conversations 3+ genuine quotation or sales opportunities These are initial performance benchmarks rather than artificial quotas. We understand that results will depend on the quality of the market and campaign. What success looks like The successful person will help us build a repeatable process where: Research → Identify decision maker → Outreach → Conversation → Qualified opportunity → Sales team → Quotation → Sale Our local sales team will be responsible for the sales conversion and customer relationship. Your responsibility is to consistently put qualified opportunities into that pipeline. Working relationship We are looking for someone who: • Takes ownership of their work • Works independently without constant supervision • Communicates clearly and regularly • Thinks commercially rather than simply completing tasks • Is comfortable testing different approaches • Can explain why a particular prospect or industry should be targeted • Keeps accurate records • Responds quickly to feedback • Is interested in a long-term working relationship if the initial engagement is successful We do not want someone who needs to be told what to do every day. We want someone who can say: “This is the market opportunity I have identified, this is who we should target, this is how I recommend approaching them, and these are the results.” What would make you stand out You will be strongly considered if you have previous experience generating B2B opportunities for: • Promotional products • Apparel or uniforms • Printing • Corporate merchandise • Events • Marketing services • Manufacturing • Business services • Other B2B products with relatively high-value corporate transactions Experience selling into emerging markets, Asia-Pacific markets, Australia or similar business environments would also be valuable. Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Salesforce, Pipedrive or similar systems is an advantage. Important We are not looking for someone to simply copy company names from Google or LinkedIn. We expect you to research the organisation, understand why it could be a potential customer and identify the person most likely to influence or make the purchasing decision. Quality and relevance are more important than volume. We also expect all prospecting and outreach activity to comply with applicable laws, platform rules and acceptable business communication practices. Engagement We are looking initially for approximately: 15–20 hours per week This will begin with a 30-day trial engagement. If the relationship works well and the lead-generation process produces measurable opportunities, there is potential for an ongoing engagement with increased responsibility. We are open to discussing the freelancer's preferred working arrangement and rate based on experience. To apply Please answer the following questions in your proposal: Tell us about your previous B2B lead-generation experience. What types of companies have you generated leads for? Which prospecting tools do you currently use? For example, Sales Navigator, Apollo, Hunter, HubSpot, GoHighLevel or similar. If you were asked to generate corporate leads in a relatively small market such as Papua New Guinea, how would you approach it? Give us an example of a B2B campaign where you generated qualified meetings or sales opportunities. What do you consider a qualified lead? What would your first 30 days working with us look like? Please provide examples of measurable results from previous B2B lead-generation campaigns. One final question If you were hired today, what are the first three things you would do to generate corporate sales opportunities for our business? We are looking for someone who thinks commercially, communicates well and can demonstrate that they know how to turn prospect research into actual business opportunities. We are interested in building a long-term relationship with the right person.
