Backend Engineer – Rust (Trading Simulation Platform) + Web3 technology
Worldwide
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer specializing in Rust and Web3 technology to join our Trading Simulation Platform team. The core of this role is designing and implementing a crypto payment microservice in Rust — a service that communicates directly with production nodes across multiple blockchains to power our payment layer. This requires genuine, hands-on understanding of how crypto works at a protocol level. If you don't know precisely how crypto and trading function, this role is not for you. Our trading engine is already implemented and our architecture is already designed. We currently support Polymarket, Kalshi, and Binance for trading simulations, and our roadmap is focused on adding further integrations. You'll be joining a mature codebase to extend it, not to build from scratch — though we expect you to be capable of contributing to architectural decisions when needed. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain a crypto payment microservice in Rust that interfaces directly with production blockchain nodes. Extend our existing trading simulation engine by adding new market and exchange integrations (building on our current Polymarket, Kalshi, and Binance support). Contribute to architectural decisions where appropriate, working within our established system design. Optimize system performance and scalability through effective code practices, multithreading, and distributed computing techniques. Implement RESTful APIs and web services to facilitate real-time data exchange and system interoperability. Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and code reviews to uphold high-quality standards across all development phases. Participate actively in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for ongoing support. Experience At least 3 years writing Rust, with proven experience developing backend systems in a production environment. Solid, precise understanding of how cryptocurrencies work — including blockchain nodes, transactions, and on-chain interactions. This is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have. Working knowledge of trading and how markets function. Ability to reason about and contribute to system architecture independently. Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture and experience designing scalable solutions for high-volume data processing. Familiarity with RESTful API development, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Hands-on knowledge of database design and management using SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) or NoSQL (MongoDB). Experience with version control tools such as Git/GitHub within an SDLC framework. Knowledge of software engineering best practices including CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, debugging, and system design principles. Ability to work effectively in an Agile environment while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Please note: candidates without a clear, demonstrable understanding of how crypto works will not be considered — this knowledge is essential to writing code that safely interacts with production blockchain nodes. Join us to build the payment and simulation infrastructure at the core of a modern trading technology platform. If you know crypto deeply, write excellent Rust, and want to make a tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you.
