Bilingual FR/EN Fiction Ghostwriter for Untale
Worldwide
Bilingual FR/EN Fiction Ghostwriter for a New Serialized Reading App About the project Untale is a new mobile fiction platform built around short, serialized stories. Readers discover a story through its first Part, then decide whether they Want More. If there is enough interest, the story continues through additional Parts. Before opening the platform to creators, I want to build a small catalogue of Untale Originals so the app already has high-quality stories to discover at launch. I am looking for one long-term freelance writer, ideally able to work comfortably in both French and English. What I need The initial goal is approximately: - 15-20 original stories in total - A mix of French and English stories - Around 5 Parts per story initially - Pilot / Part 1: up to 2,000 words - Following Parts: 500–3,000 words - More Parts may be commissioned later for stories that perform well The exact initial volume will depend on the quality of applications, pricing and the selected writer. This is not traditional novel writing. The stories are designed for mobile reading and need to hook readers quickly. Each story should have: - A strong concept that is easy to understand quickly - A compelling opening hook - Short, engaging Parts - Good pacing - Characters readers want to follow - A strong reason to continue after each Part - Natural cliffhangers when appropriate - Consistency between Parts Untale is a general fiction platform, not a platform limited to specific genres. The launch catalogue should include a varied mix of genres such as romance, dark romance, fantasy, science fiction, thriller, horror, mystery, paranormal, adventure, action, drama and contemporary fiction. Romance, dark romance, thriller, horror and paranormal are particularly relevant for the initial catalogue, but I want enough variety for Untale to feel like a broader fiction platform from launch. French and English I would strongly prefer working with one person for the whole project rather than managing separate writers. You do not need to be equally perfect in both languages, but you must be capable of producing natural, publishable fiction in both French and English. Please be transparent about: - Your strongest/native language - Your level in the other language - Whether you write directly in both languages or use translation/localization as part of your workflow The French and English catalogue does not need to contain translated versions of the same stories. I prefer original stories adapted to each audience. AI tools I am comfortable with AI-assisted workflows. You may use AI tools for brainstorming, outlining, drafting or editing if they help you work efficiently. However, I am not looking for raw AI-generated stories copied and delivered without meaningful human work. You remain responsible for: - Story quality - Originality - Character and plot consistency - Natural language - Editing - Avoiding repetitive/generic AI writing - Delivering a final result that feels intentionally written and polished I care about the final quality, not which tools you use. How to apply Please include: 1. A short introduction about your fiction-writing experience. 2. Your strongest genres. 3. Your level in both French and English. 4. One or two existing fiction-writing samples if available. 5. Your expected pricing for this type of ongoing work. Small application exercise Please pitch one original serialized story concept in 100-150 words. Include: - The core premise - The opening hook - What would make the reader want Part 2 Do not write a full Part. This is only a short concept exercise so I can understand your storytelling instincts. Selection process I will select a writer based on their application, existing samples, story pitch, pricing and overall fit. Once selected, we will start directly with an initial batch of stories. If the collaboration works well, the goal is to continue with the same writer for the larger Untale Originals catalogue and potentially future Parts. Rights The commissioned stories are intended to be published commercially as Untale Originals. The final contract will therefore require commercial usage rights and the ability for Untale to publish, edit, localize, monetize and continue the commissioned stories. What matters most I am not looking for literary perfection or extremely long chapters. I am looking for someone who understands one simple question: Can you make a reader finish a Part and immediately want the next one?
