Book Cover Designer — Youth Memoir (Community Nonprofit Project)

Project Description: We're looking for a thoughtful, experienced book cover designer to create the cover for a memoir written by a 17-year-old author, telling her true story of immigrating from Venezuela to the United States. This is a community-based youth project — not a commercial/for-profit publication — created to help teachers and fellow young immigrants feel seen and understood. We already have the book's description and creative vision written up and ready to share with the right designer. What we need: 2 distinct cover mockup concepts to choose from Once we select a direction, 2–3 rounds of revisions on the chosen concept (we'll be considerate and clear with our feedback — no scope creep on our end) Final print-ready and digital-ready files (for Amazon KDP paperback + Kindle) Timeline: Completed by Wednesday, August 12 What we're looking for in a designer: Real experience designing book covers, ideally in YA, memoir, or narrative nonfiction An eye for covers that feel personal and emotionally resonant, not generic or stock-photo-driven — this book is about identity, resilience, and a specific girl's real story Comfort designing sensitively around themes of immigration, family, and coming-of-age Someone who listens well and can translate a young author's voice into a visual, not just execute a generic template Strong portfolio with samples we can review How to apply: Please include the word "voice" somewhere in your application so we know you've read the full description.
