Book Manuscript Formatting & References Editor

I am seeking an experienced book/manuscript editor to prepare a completed nonfiction manuscript for submission to a major trade publisher. The manuscript is approximately 58,000 words and is written for a general business audience but draws extensively on academic research in psychology, management, negotiation, and persuasion. The work involves: Formatting the manuscript in Microsoft Word according to the publisher’s submission specifications, including margins, spacing, headings, page layout, and other style requirements. Formatting and standardizing endnotes/references throughout the manuscript. Completing academic citations. Many references currently identify an author and publication year in the text or notes. You will need to locate the corresponding published academic source and provide the complete bibliographic citation in the required format. Light proofreading for obvious typos, misspellings, punctuation errors, duplicated words, spacing problems, and similar mechanical errors. Consistency checking across citations, endnotes, headings, and manuscript formatting. This is not a developmental or substantive editing assignment. The manuscript has already been extensively edited, and I do not want stylistic rewriting. The priority is accuracy, consistency, and producing a professionally formatted manuscript ready for the publisher. Ideal candidate Experience with book manuscripts, academic citations/references, and Microsoft Word is important. Experience preparing manuscripts for major trade or academic publishers is especially desirable. Familiarity with citation management and locating scholarly articles through Google Scholar or similar databases would be useful. Please describe relevant experience, particularly with book manuscript preparation and academic references, and provide examples if available. Rate: $35–$60/hour, depending on experience.
