Build an AI-Based Queue Monitoring System for Retail Stores (Python + YOLO + FastAPI)

We're looking for a Python / Computer Vision developer to build the first version of an AI-powered queue monitoring system for retail stores. The goal is to monitor one or more CCTV camera streams and automatically estimate customer waiting times, queue length, and service efficiency. This project will be used as an internal operational tool, so reliability and clean code are more important than a polished UI. Requirements The system should: Connect to one or more RTSP/IP cameras Detect customers using YOLO (or a similar detector) Define configurable queue zones Count how many people are waiting Estimate waiting time based on object tracking Detect when a customer joins or leaves the queue Prevent duplicate counting while people remain in the queue Display queue statistics in real time Dashboard A lightweight web dashboard is sufficient. It should display: Live camera feed Queue length Average waiting time Longest waiting customer Queue status
