Build a Simple Desktop Tool to Automate My GPT-Assisted Local Development Workflow

I have been doing “vibe development” with GPT to build and improve software projects. The AI-assisted development part works well, but the process between iterations is tedious. Right now I often have to manually download files, copy them into the correct folders, run PowerShell/build commands, compile, restart the local environment, run smoke tests, inspect errors, send failures back to GPT, and then launch the application in a browser for review. I want a lightweight Windows desktop application that automates this workflow. The basic experience should be: Select project → chat with GPT → GPT prepares proposed code/file changes → review changes → click Apply → tool creates a Git checkpoint → applies changes → builds/restarts project → runs smoke tests → if something fails, sends the relevant error back to GPT so it can prepare a repair → repeat as needed (x number of times according to settings) → When successful, show me a button I can click to open Application for review. Important points: - The AI should prepare changes but never apply them automatically. I always click Apply. - The tool should support multiple local projects, each with configurable build/start/test commands and project-specific GPT instructions. - It should use my OpenAI or other AI model key. I add that locally in settings. - Automatic repair attempts should have configurable limits so they cannot run indefinitely or create uncontrolled API costs. - I want to be able to track token use and cost. Include in activity logs. - The UI should be simple and chat-first, similar conceptually to ChatGPT/Gemini, with an optional side panel for files, diffs, changes, and activity logs. - This is not intended to be a full IDE or CI/CD platform. It will use my desktop for file storage and any browser on my desktop for opening the website. - Deliverable for the project should be a Windows executable/installer, plus the source code.
