Build a mascot (scottie dog) for my children workbook - illustrator and procreate

This is an initial trial project to evaluate the creative fit and quality of the illustration work. I would like to begin with the development of my Scottish Terrier mascot's face/head and one sitting pose for my music education workbook. I have some inspiration images and a current drawing that I can share as a starting point. The most important aspect for me is developing the dog’s face and overall expression. I’m specifically looking for eyes that feel warm, friendly, and expressive, not scary or mean. If the initial design works well and we are a good creative fit, I would then like to continue developing the character further, especially animation for the website. I’m hoping to find someone who would be interested in a longer-term collaboration if the initial mascot design is successful. Thanks!
