Summary

I run a fractional financial advisory practice serving small and mid-sized business owners. I'm looking for a US-based business development contractor to source and close new advisory engagements. This is a commission-heavy role for a confident B2B closer who wants to earn based on results. About the practice: Allegiant SMB Consulting provides fractional financial advisory to founders and CEOs of businesses in the $500K to $10M revenue range. Two engagement tiers: Advisor-level engagement: $3,500 per month (2 to 3 strategy sessions per month, financial modeling and analysis support, decision-level advisory) Fractional financial advisor engagement: $6,500 per month (weekly touchpoints, ongoing financial oversight, budget and forecast development, growth and fundraising prep support) The practice is led by a founder-operator with 25 years of financial planning and executive experience: MBA, CFP®, former VP at Fidelity Investments (grew investment book from $900M to $1.2B in 18 months), founder of a successfully exited RIA, and current CEO of an active AI-enabled SaaS platform. The credibility is there. Your job is to find the right buyers, qualify them, and get them to a discovery call I take. What you will do: Identify and prospect qualified SMB owners and CEOs using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, industry databases, and any prospecting channels you're strongest in Run outbound outreach (email, LinkedIn, phone if you're strong in it) to prospects Qualify inbound and outbound interest into discovery calls on my calendar Follow up with prospects post-call to move them toward signed engagement Maintain a CRM or tracker with pipeline, activity, and outcomes Weekly reporting on outreach volume, meetings booked, pipeline status, and closed engagements What you will not do: Take discovery or client calls (I take all client-facing conversations) Negotiate pricing outside of my published rates Make commitments about scope, timing, or availability without my approval Represent yourself as anything other than my business development contact Compensation: Base retainer plus commission structure: Base retainer: $1,000 per month Closing commission: $2,000 per closed engagement at $3,500 monthly tier, $3,500 per closed engagement at $6,500 monthly tier Trailing commission: 10% of monthly retainer fee for months 2 through 12 on any closed engagement you sourced Commissions paid monthly on closed and collected revenue. Realistic performance target after ramp: 1 closed engagement every 4 to 6 weeks. At that pace, expected earnings range from $3,500 to $7,000+ per month by month three, with trailing commissions compounding thereafter. Must haves: US-based Native-level English writing and speaking Proven experience selling professional services or high-ticket B2B into SMB owners or CEOs. Include closing metrics in your application (number of closed deals per month or quarter, deal size, conversion rate). Comfort with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or willingness to use my subscription Strong CRM discipline Comfortable with commission-heavy compensation and confident in your ability to close Willing to sign an NDA before starting work Nice to haves: Prior experience selling fractional CFO or advisory services, consulting engagements, or executive coaching Existing network of SMB founders, CEOs, or owner-operator business communities Experience with HubSpot, Apollo.io, or similar sales tools Background in financial services or executive advisory Structure: 10 to 20 hours per week to start, flexible on exact schedule 60-day evaluation period. If you're producing pipeline and closing engagements by day 60, we continue and grow the relationship. If not, we part cleanly. NDA required before any client-facing materials or lists are shared To apply, answer these five questions in your proposal. Generic applications will be ignored: Describe your most recent BD or sales role selling into SMB owners or CEOs. What were you selling, at what price point, and what were your closing metrics (deals closed per month or quarter, conversion rate)? Please include specifics, not just activity metrics. Have you sold fractional advisory, consulting, or high-ticket professional services into SMB owners before? If yes, describe the offer and how you found buyers. If no, how would you approach selling this offer? Walk me through how you would identify and qualify 20 SMB owner prospects in a week for this offer. What tools, what targeting criteria, what qualification approach? Commission-heavy compensation requires confidence in your ability to close. What makes you confident you can close in this structure, and what specifically would cause you to walk away from a role like this? Are you US-based and willing to sign an NDA before starting work? Looking forward to your application
