CPA / Audit Professional Needed for U.S. Business Audit & Assurance Engagement

We are seeking an experienced U.S.-based CPA, audit professional, or qualified audit firm to support a short-term Audit & Assurance engagement for an established U.S. business. The selected professional will conduct an independent review of the company's relevant financial records, accounting processes, internal controls, and supporting documentation and provide clear findings and recommendations. The client is looking for an experienced professional who can assess the current financial environment, identify potential discrepancies, weaknesses, risks, or areas requiring improvement, and deliver appropriate audit and assurance documentation based on the agreed scope. Scope of Work The engagement may include the following: Financial Records & Accounting Review Review relevant accounting records and financial information Review general ledger activity and key account balances Review financial statements and supporting schedules Assess the accuracy and consistency of selected financial records Review relevant reconciliations and supporting documentation Identify material discrepancies, unusual items, or areas requiring further investigation Audit Procedures & Testing Develop an appropriate audit/review approach based on the agreed engagement scope Perform testing of selected transactions and account balances Review supporting documentation and evidence Perform sample-based testing where appropriate Assess whether sufficient documentation exists to support relevant financial transactions Document findings from the procedures performed Internal Controls & Process Review Review relevant accounting and financial control processes Assess key internal controls relating to financial reporting and transaction processing Identify potential weaknesses or control gaps Review segregation of duties and approval processes where applicable Provide practical recommendations for improving relevant controls and procedures Financial Reporting & Assurance Assess relevant financial reporting processes Review the consistency and reliability of financial information Identify areas requiring correction, adjustment, or further review Provide observations regarding financial reporting practices based on the agreed engagement scope Findings & Recommendations Identify significant findings, risks, discrepancies, or control weaknesses Clearly explain the potential impact of identified issues Provide practical recommendations for remediation and improvement Prioritize key findings based on significance and risk Expected Deliverables The selected professional will be expected to provide: Proposed audit/assurance approach and work plan List of information and documents required from the client Documentation of procedures performed, as appropriate Summary of key findings Identification of material discrepancies or areas requiring further review Internal control/process observations Recommendations for improvement Final audit, assurance, or agreed-upon procedures report, depending on the professional's qualifications and the final engagement scope Final management discussion or clarification of findings, if required Important Note Regarding Engagement Type This is an initial short-term engagement. The exact nature of the engagement—such as an audit, review, assurance engagement, or agreed-upon procedures engagement—will be finalized with the selected professional based on the client's requirements and applicable professional standards. Required Qualifications Applicants should have: CPA qualification or equivalent relevant professional audit qualification Demonstrated experience with U.S. audit and assurance engagements Experience reviewing U.S. company financial statements and accounting records Strong knowledge of applicable U.S. auditing and assurance standards Experience with internal controls and financial-process reviews Ability to identify financial risks, discrepancies, and control weaknesses Excellent written reporting and documentation skills Experience with U.S. GAAP is required. Experience with AICPA audit, review, or assurance standards is strongly preferred.
