Camouflage Designer for New Hunting Apparel
Worldwide
I'm building a premium New Zealand hunting apparel brand and am looking for an experienced camouflage designer to create a completely original camouflage pattern. This is not a graphic design project—I need someone who understands camouflage theory, concealment, color science, and textile pattern design. The goal is to develop a unique camouflage pattern specifically for New Zealand hunting environments, including native bush, beech forest, manuka, alpine tussock, scree slopes, riverbeds, and mixed shadow conditions. It should perform well across multiple seasons while becoming a distinctive part of our brand identity. I am not interested in copying existing camouflage patterns—I want something fresh, innovative, and recognizable. Deliverables include an original seamless repeating pattern, color palette, high-resolution print-ready artwork, layered source files, and apparel mock-ups. When applying, please include examples of any camouflage or outdoor design work, a brief description of your design process, your estimated timeline, and your project cost. This project has the potential to lead to an ongoing relationship as we develop additional colorways and hunting apparel. Long-Term Opportunity While this project begins with developing a unique camouflage pattern and a premium merino hunting hoodie, our vision extends far beyond a single product. We're building Remlite NZ, a New Zealand-based premium outdoor brand focused on ultralight hunting and wilderness equipment. We already have an established e-commerce business, an existing customer base, and a growing presence in the outdoor market. Our goal is to create a world-class range of products designed specifically for New Zealand hunters and adventurers. We're looking for a designer who wants to become a genuine creative partner—not simply complete a one-off project. Over time, we'd like to work together on: -Developing an original camouflage system unique to New Zealand. -Designing a complete technical hunting apparel range. -Creating factory-ready tech packs and production documentation. -Developing backpacks, tents, shelters, sleep systems, accessories, and other outdoor equipment. -Helping shape the overall visual identity and design language of the Remlite brand. If we find the right person, this has the potential to become a long-term working relationship spanning many product launches over the coming years. We're looking for someone who enjoys creating exceptional products, thinks strategically about design, and wants to help build a premium outdoor brand from the ground up.
