Cellist and Trumpet Player Needed for Indie Folk / Chamber-Folk Song

Summary

I’m looking for a cellist and trumpet player to record parts for an original song that is already mostly produced. The song has an indie-folk/chamber-folk feel and was inspired by a school shooting, so I’m looking for something emotionally restrained, spacious, and supportive rather than dramatic or orchestral. For cello, I’d like to experiment with closely following the existing guitar part in the verses. That could mean matching it note-for-note in places, playing a harmony against it, or finding a middle ground where the cello follows the same shape but has a little more freedom. I’m interested in hearing what works best musically rather than forcing one exact approach. In the choruses, I’d like the cello to open up into longer, drawn-out sustained notes that add warmth and emotional weight. For trumpet, I’m looking for a warm, intimate, breathy tone. I want it to stay very sparse and mostly function like a pad behind the vocal, using long sustained notes, harmony, subtle swells, and plenty of space rather than busy melodic lines. I’m not looking for anything bright, jazzy, triumphant, or showy. A useful tone reference is “Eternal” by Eydís Evensen and Ari Bragi Kárason. Overall, I want both instruments to support the vocal and help the song sit somewhere between longing and hope. Silence and restraint are important. I’d rather have fewer notes that really matter than constant playing. There is also one important arrangement moment in the final chorus where all instruments briefly cut out, punctuated by a single sharply muted snare hit, before gradually returning. I can provide the current mix and give feedback as we go. I’m looking for musicians who are comfortable interpreting a general direction, trying a few ideas, and bringing their own musical judgment to the arrangement. Ideally, you can provide a high-quality isolated WAV stem and are open to one or two rounds of revisions. Please send examples of understated, emotional playing if you have them.
