3D Character Artist for Morph Targets
Worldwide
Need a 3D character artist to build two base meshes (male and female) in Blender with 27 named morph targets per character. Deliverables should be exported as glTF 2.0 (.glb) for use in a real-time mobile app. This is a technical morph-target project focused on clean quad topology, exact morph naming, and sparse deltas. No rigging is required. I have a complete written spec ready to share with shortlisted candidates. WHAT THIS IS A parametric human body system: two base meshes (male, female) in Blender, each carrying 27 named morph targets, exported as glTF 2.0 .glb for a real-time mobile application. Plus a set of swappable head assets (8 hairstyles, 4 facial hair pieces, 2 brow sets). This is a technical asset job, not character design. The look is neutral and stylised-realistic — think anatomy mannequin with a real head. WHAT MATTERS MOST Morph values are computed programmatically and applied at runtime. Nothing is hand-tuned. So every morph must behave predictably and independently across its full 0.0-1.0 range, and remain valid at any combination with the others. Hard requirements: - One single mesh object per model, 8,000-14,000 tris - Quad-dominant topology, no n-gons, enough edge loops at abdomen, waist, hip/thigh, pectoral, deltoid, lower back and jaw - Morph names read directly by our code - exact ASCII strings, no prefixes - Zero state = base mesh exactly; sparse deltas; same vertex count and order - Neutral, tintable base colour texture - no baked tan, no baked AO - Passes the Khronos glTF Validator with zero errors - No rig needed The base mesh must be your own work or a CC0 base. Daz Genesis and Character Creator meshes are not acceptable - their licences don't allow shipping the geometry inside an app. Please state what your base will be derived from. HOW IT RUNS 1. A small paid trial task first - one morph on one mesh, so we can check style and communication on something small. The base mesh built for the trial carries into the project; you don't rebuild it. 2. Then four milestones: male body morphs, female body morphs, frame + face morphs, head assets. I have a full 14-section written spec with every morph described at 0.0 and 1.0, plus nine acceptance test cases with exact morph values. I'll send it to shortlisted candidates. IN YOUR PROPOSAL 1. Previous work showing blend shapes / morph targets - not just static characters. This is what I care most about. 2. What your base mesh will be derived from. 3. Your price per milestone and total, and days per milestone. 4. Whether you'd model the hairstyles yourself or adapt a licensed pack. Please don't send a template proposal. If you've built morph sets before, tell me one thing that usually goes wrong in them.
