Children's Book Illustrator Needed

Project Overview We are seeking a skilled illustrator to create 18 interior illustrations for a new book project. The ideal style is a digital sketch or storybook look—warm, textured, and expressive. Scope and Deliverables Total Illustrations: 18 finished illustrations. Consistency: Characters, clothing, and environment details must remain consistent across all scenes. Spatial Logic: Backgrounds must make logical sense, ensuring paths, structures, and surroundings are fully realized and connected. Reference Materials: We can provide reference sketches and detailed scene descriptions for each illustration to guide composition and layout. Source Files: Layered source files (such as PSD, CSP, or vector files) must be provided upon final completion alongside high-resolution, print-ready files. Revisions: The project must include dedicated revision rounds for each stage (initial sketches, color flats, and final polish). Ownership and Rights: Upon final completion and payment, the artist transfers all full commercial rights, copyright, and ownership of the final illustrations to us for publication and distribution. Originality Requirement No AI Art: All final illustrations must be genuinely human-created. AI-generated art or upscaled AI renders will not be accepted. AI may be used strictly for initial storyboarding or concept brainstorming, but the actual illustration work must be drawn and painted by a human artist. Budget and Timeline Budget: Fixed price of $600, negotiable depending on experience and sample work provided. Milestones: We prefer to structure this project in milestones, starting with character sketches and initial scenes to ensure quality control early on. Test Drawing: We will fund a milestone for one paid test before continuing with the entire project to ensure the style fits as well as work ethic.
