Chinese & English translation for the Lex Fridman Podcast and vlogs

I'm Lex Fridman, host of the Lex Fridman Podcast. I'm building a small, dedicated team to translate and subtitle long-form conversations between Chinese and English for the podcast and my vlogs. Remote, ongoing work. This is conversation translation, not document translation. I care most about people who are passionate about the work and have an exceptional eye for detail. The work covers both directions, and you can apply for either one or both: - Chinese to English: translate spoken Chinese into natural, accurate English. - English to Chinese: translate spoken English into natural, idiomatic Chinese. What you'll do: - Create and time SRT subtitles that read cleanly on screen. - Review subtitles against the video so timing and meaning line up. - Voice-over / overdubbing in English or Chinese is a plus, not required. What I'm looking for: - Fluent in both Chinese and English. - Strong experience translating conversations, not just documents. - Exceptional attention to detail. - Comfort creating SRT subtitles (tools like Subtitle Edit a plus). - Professionalism and discretion; material is confidential until release. Strong applicants get a short paid test assignment (a real subtitling sample), then join the ongoing team.
