ABOUT STEVENS Stevens is a high-touch strategic advisory firm that partners with founders, CEOs, and executive teams to help ambitious companies navigate growth, transformation, and complex technology initiatives. THE ROLE Stevens is engaging a Client Engagement Coordinator to serve as the connective tissue between our internal team and our clients across 2-4 active engagements at any given time. This number is intentionally capped to protect the quality and closeness of each client relationship. This is an independent contractor engagement, initially for a 3-month term with the option to renew based on mutual fit and ongoing need. We'll check in at 14, 30 and 60 days to align on scope and fit ahead of that renewal decision. The primary point of contact for this engagement will be our Program Manager. This engagement is fully remote; contractors in or near the Eastern time zone are preferred for ease of overlap with our team and clients, though exact hours are flexible and self-directed based on deliverables. Estimated scope is roughly 10-20 hours per week, though the contractor manages their own schedule to meet the engagement's needs, and is free to take on other clients or engagements concurrently. WHAT THIS ROLE IS (AND ISN'T) This role sits at the intersection of project coordination and client experience: half the scope is making sure work is moving (meetings happen, action items get assigned and tracked, nothing falls through the cracks) and the other half is being the consistent, known point of contact our clients can call or email and trust to get an answer. Because our clients are founders and CEOs of VC- and PE-backed companies, the bar for responsiveness, polish, and follow-through is high. These are high-visibility, high-stakes relationships, and clients need to feel confident that someone is always on top of things, even when the underlying technical work is happening elsewhere. SCOPE OF WORK Engagement Operations - Coordinate meeting scheduling, agendas, and notes across 2-4 client engagements - Track action items and ensure they're assigned to the right internal owner, with clear deadlines - Run regular check-ins (internal and client-facing) to catch risks or delays early - Maintain a simple, visible status view per engagement so nothing gets lost between meetings - Follow up, relentlessly but pleasantly, on open items, pending decisions, and outstanding deliverables - Work across both Stevens' internal systems and, where needed, client-specific tools and calendars Client Experience - Be the named, reliable point of contact clients know they can reach directly - Respond promptly to client emails and calls, even when the answer is "let me find out and get back to you by [time]" - Build genuine rapport with client stakeholders; this is a relationship-driven engagement, not just scheduling - Flag client sentiment or concerns to the Program Manager before they become escalations - Represent Stevens' responsiveness and professionalism in every touchpoint Coordination with Internal Team - Coordinate with the Program Manager to keep engagements aligned with broader priorities - Help ensure team members know what's expected of them and by when - Flag blockers or resourcing conflicts rather than letting them sit WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 3+ years in a client-facing coordination, account management, project coordination, or executive/client support capacity - Experience working in an agency environment on software/technical projects specifically; you understand the pace, client expectations, and delivery rhythms of agency-based software work - Excellent written and verbal communication; this person represents Stevens directly to clients - Highly organized with a strong bias toward follow-through - Naturally warm and personable: someone clients like hearing from, not just tolerate - Comfortable using project/task tracking tools, documentation, and calendar coordination - Able to manage competing priorities across several engagements without dropping details - Must successfully complete a background check as a condition of engagement (required due to direct, ongoing access to client-sensitive communications and relationships)
