Closed Captioning Expert – Convert & Sync Transcripts into VTT Files

We are seeking a Closed Captioning Specialist to create VTT (WebVTT) subtitle files for approximately 120 audio-visual hours across roughly 100 videos. Important: Edited transcripts will already be provided in PDF and DOCX format. Captions should be created and corrected from these edited transcripts — not generated directly from the original video audio, which may introduce spelling, terminology, and name errors through automated AI transcription. The primary task is syncing, formatting, and aligning captions accurately to the provided edited transcripts. Responsibilities - Convert edited PDF/DOCX transcripts into VTT subtitle files. - Sync captions with video timing. - Ensure captions match the edited transcripts accurately. - Adjust caption timing for readability and natural pacing. - Export properly formatted VTT subtitle files. Requirements - Experience with captioning/subtitle tools such as Subtitle Edit, Aegisub, Premiere Pro, or similar. - Familiarity with WebVTT formatting. - Strong attention to detail. - Ability to work from edited transcripts rather than relying solely on auto-generated captions. Project Scope - Approximately 100 videos / 120 total hours. - Flexible workflow welcome, including AI-assisted timing tools, provided captions are corrected against the supplied edited transcripts. - Opportunity for monthly retainer if done correctly.
