Comedy Script Writer Needed for Funny Short-Form Product Ads Scooch is a growing cell phone accessory brand looking for a talented comedy script writer to help us create funny, highly shareable short-form video ads for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts. For our first project, we want to create a comedy-driven comparison between: The giant, overstuffed back-pocket wallet The bulky front-pocket/Ridge-style wallet Our Scooch Wingmate, a phone case with a hidden wallet built into the back The Wingmate looks like a normal phone case but discreetly carries 3–4 cards, works with our Wingmount car mount, and includes a built-in CardStand for hands-free viewing. The Comedy Angle We want to poke fun at men and their ridiculous wallets. Think: A guy sitting crooked because his wallet is three inches thick. A wallet stuffed with old receipts, expired gift cards, membership cards, and random junk. A front-pocket wallet creating an awkward lump in his pants. A wife or girlfriend questioning why he is carrying around 47 things he hasn't used since 2018. Then we introduce the Wingmate as the much simpler alternative. We are not looking for a traditional commercial. We want comedy first and product advertising second. The goal is to make someone laugh, keep watching, and share the video, while naturally demonstrating why carrying your essential cards inside your phone case makes sense. What We Need From You For each concept, we want: A strong opening hook in the first 1–3 seconds A complete 30–60 second comedy script Dialogue and character direction Visual jokes and physical comedy ideas Recommended shots/B-roll Product demonstration moments Several alternate punchlines or hooks when appropriate A natural CTA at the end Our internal creators will take your scripts and shot recommendations and film the videos. Who We're Looking For We are especially interested in writers with experience in: Comedy sketches TikTok/Reels/YouTube Shorts Direct-response advertising UGC advertising Male/female relationship humor Observational comedy Consumer product advertising If your background is traditional corporate copywriting, this probably isn't the right project. We want someone who understands how to take a simple everyday annoyance and turn it into a funny, memorable video. Potential for Ongoing Work This is not intended to be a one-time project. Scooch has multiple phone cases and accessories that we want to build comedy campaigns around. If you can consistently develop funny, shootable ideas, we would like to establish an ongoing relationship and produce scripts regularly.
