EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Freelance / Contract (1099) INDUSTRY: Engineering | Construction | Critical Facilities | Data Centers | AI Infrastructure LOCATION: On-Site — Denver, CO Region (On-Site) ENGAGEMENT: Mid-to-Late Summer 2026 Start | Approx. 2–3 Months | 40+ hrs/week Support the commissioning of a hyperscale AI data center as part of a fully funded, mission-critical Cx effort in the Denver, CO metro area. INTUVA by PTS Data Center Solutions, Inc., a NJ based company, is seeking an experienced freelance Commissioning Agent (Cx) to support the execution of commissioning deliverables for a hyperscale AI data center project in the Denver, CO region, through Level 5 / integrated systems testing (IST). The work scope requires the individual to have experience commissioning data center facilities, including but not limited to data center facility infrastructure equipment such as generators, UPS systems, electrical switchgear, mechanical system pumps, chillers, and computer room air conditioning/handling (CRAC/CRAH) units. The freelance Cx Agent is responsible for developing and executing project-related commissioning deliverables. This is a fully funded commissioning effort, not a proposal exercise, with multiple positions available. ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE • Review technical design documents and submittals to prepare test scripts and commissioning (Cx) procedures. • Build and maintain commissioning schedules. • Travel to and perform on-site observation, functional performance testing, and validation of equipment and systems (Levels 2–5, including IST) according to test scripts. • Coordinate with trade contractors and equipment suppliers/installers associated with on-site commissioning activities. • Provide technical consulting opinions related to solving problems encountered in the field. • Develop post-validation Cx reports, ensuring consistency and clarity with technical design documents, and track issues through closeout. Systems Covered Generators, UPS systems, electrical switchgear, mechanical system pumps, chillers, and CRAC/CRAH units. REQUIRED • Technical/engineering degree preferred, with a minimum of 7-10 years of design, construction, or mission-critical commissioning experience. • Data center commissioning experience required. • Available on-site in the Denver, CO region, including nights/weekends during IST windows. • Willingness to travel extensively for long periods, with irregular schedules and flexibility. • Ability to join virtual conference calls and prepare documentation with personal electronics, if required. PREFERRED • Cx (AABC/ACG), BCxP, or NETA certification. • Cxlloy experience. • OSHA 30 certification. • NFPA 70E arc flash training. • Professional liability insurance. ENGAGEMENT DETAILS • This is a freelance / independent contractor (1099) engagement, not a full-time or benefits-eligible position. Field work is on-site in the Denver, CO region; this is not a remote role, but may have remote hours before or after the on-site portion of the engagement. Schedule may include irregular hours and extended travel, particularly during integrated systems testing (IST) windows. • An NDA is required prior to receiving project documents. • Multiple positions are available — this is a fully staffed, funded commissioning effort, not a proposal exercise. RATE $80 – $90 hr.
