Construction Estimator – CostX | Australian Projects

We are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator with strong hands-on experience using CostX to support our growing estimating workload across Australian construction projects. The role will involve reviewing architectural, structural, civil, and services drawings and preparing accurate quantity takeoffs, BOQs, cost estimates, and tender documentation. Responsibilities Complete detailed quantity takeoffs using CostX. Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and scope of works. Prepare accurate BOQs and pricing schedules in Excel. Measure quantities for multiple construction trades and identify scope gaps. Review subcontractor and supplier quotations where required. Prepare estimates suitable for tender submission. Maintain clear assumptions, exclusions, and measurement notes. Communicate with our team regarding drawing discrepancies and scope clarification. Meet agreed deadlines and maintain consistent accuracy across projects. Requirements 3+ years of construction estimating experience. Strong practical experience with CostX — this is essential. Experience with Australian construction projects and documentation. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Strong Excel and BOQ preparation skills. Excellent attention to detail and quantity measurement accuracy. Good written and verbal English. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Software Required: CostX Microsoft Excel Desirable: Bluebeam Revu PlanSwift Working Hours: You must be available during Australian business hours, with preference given to candidates who can maintain regular overlap with our team. This will initially be project-based/part-time, with the potential for ongoing work for the right estimator. We are looking for someone with genuine hands-on CostX experience, not someone who has only used it occasionally.
