Consultant and Linguist for Scottish Gaelic Beginner Language Learning Course

Transparent Language, Inc. is developing an online Gaelic-language course for library clients in Scotland. We are looking to incorporate elements from Education Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence into our course, and are seeking knowledgeable and reliable Gaelic speakers and cultural experts to consult on the project. We are developing a course for learners of all ages which will include approximately fifteen units of content for beginner learners. The course will feature vocabulary and grammar lessons, cultural information, and activities based on short dialogues and reading passages. As a consultant/linguist for the project, we’d ask you to: • Determine the topics and general themes of the course • Advise us on who is most likely to use the product and what their needs might be (Heritage speakers, school-age children, etc.) o Write simple grammar instruction slides with supporting practice activities o Write dialogue and reading passages with comprehension questions o Review/revise translations We have some flexibility in scheduling deadlines for content development work.
