Project Overview A new startup academy is seeking an experienced technical writer or subject matter expert to develop professional training course content for Process Safety Engineering and Fire Protection Engineering topics. The content will be used for online and instructor-led training through ProtecField Academy. The writer should be able to convert technical standards, engineering concepts, regulations, and industry best practices into clear, structured, practical training material suitable for engineers, safety professionals, supervisors, and industrial personnel. Scope of Work The selected contractor will support development of training courses in areas such as: • Process Safety Management (PSM) • Process Hazard Analysis / HAZOP • Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) • Management of Change (MOC) • Incident Investigation • Operating Procedures and Safe Work Practices • Process Safety Auditing • Safety Instrumented Systems / IEC 61511 • Combustible Dust / NFPA 660 • Hydrogen Process Safety • Hazardous Area Classification • Fire Protection Engineering • Fire Risk Assessment • Flammable and Combustible Liquids • Fire Detection and Alarm Systems • Fire Suppression Systems • NFPA-based industrial fire protection topics Key Responsibilities The writer will be expected to: • Develop structured course outlines and learning objectives. • Research relevant OSHA, EPA, NFPA, API, CCPS, IEC, ISA, and other applicable industry guidance. • Write technically accurate training content in clear professional English. • Develop PowerPoint-ready training material and instructor notes. • Create practical industrial examples, case studies, exercises, and scenarios. • Prepare knowledge-check questions, quizzes, and final examination questions. • Identify suitable diagrams, tables, illustrations, and visual concepts. • Reference applicable standards and regulations accurately. • Update and revise content based on technical review comments. • Ensure course material is original and suitable for commercial training use. Expected Deliverables For each assigned course, deliverables may include: • Course outline • Learning objectives • Module-by-module written content • Presentation slide content • Instructor notes • Practical examples and case studies • Exercises and discussion questions • Quiz questions • Final examination questions and answers • Technical references • Suggested diagrams and visual content Required Qualifications Preferred candidates should have experience in one or more of the following: • Process Safety Engineering • Chemical Engineering • Fire Protection Engineering • Industrial Safety • Risk Engineering • PHA / HAZOP / LOPA • OSHA PSM / EPA RMP • NFPA standards • SIS / Functional Safety • Combustible Dust • Hydrogen Safety Strong technical writing skills and the ability to explain complex engineering concepts clearly are essential. Preferred Experience Preference will be given to candidates who have: • Developed engineering or safety training courses. • Worked in chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, metals, hydrogen, or similar industries. • Facilitated or participated in PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, audits, or fire risk assessments. • Experience with CCPS, NFPA, OSHA, API, IEC, ISA, or related standards. • Experience creating LMS, SCORM, e-learning, or instructor-led training content. Intellectual Property All content developed under this project must be original and will become the property of ProtecField Process Safety LLC upon payment. Contractor must not reuse copyrighted training materials belonging to other organizations. Engagement This is expected to be an ongoing project, beginning with selected courses and expanding based on quality, technical accuracy, and performance.
