We are looking for a counselor, therapist, social worker, or mental health subject matter expert to review a training chapter for financial coaches. The chapter focuses on counseling-informed approaches to financial coaching. It is not intended to train financial coaches to provide therapy. Instead, the chapter helps coaches communicate with empathy, recognize client stress or avoidance, maintain professional boundaries, understand when referral may be appropriate, and handle sensitive client situations responsibly. We need an experienced mental health professional to review the chapter and provide feedback on whether the content is appropriate for non-clinical financial coaches. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has experience in one or more of the following areas: Counseling, therapy, social work, psychology, or behavioral health. Trauma-informed or trauma-aware communication. Coaching, education, or client-facing support. Scope-of-practice and referral boundaries. Reviewing training materials or educational content. Financial stress, family conflict, shame, avoidance, or behavior-change topics. What We Need Reviewed The chapter includes topics such as: Financial coaching vs. therapy boundaries. Empathy, active listening, and nonjudgmental communication. Counseling-informed lenses such as behavioral, humanistic, systems-based, and psychodynamic awareness. Money patterns, shame, avoidance, and client follow-through. Trauma-aware coaching boundaries. Family money dynamics, financial secrecy, divorce-related questions, and possible financial abuse concerns. Self-harm or crisis-related statements and referral guidance. Documentation language for sensitive client situations. Coaching scenarios and answer explanations. What We Are Looking For We are looking for practical written feedback on: Any language that sounds too clinical or could be misinterpreted as therapy training. Any areas where scope boundaries should be stronger. Any referral or safety language that should be improved. Any trauma-aware language that needs adjustment. Any scenario responses that should be revised. Any documentation examples that could be more objective, non-diagnostic, or privacy-conscious. Project Size We estimate this project will take 8 - 10 hours, including review time and written feedback. Deliverable Please provide written comments and recommended edits. We do not need full rewriting unless you recommend specific replacement language for a high-risk section. To Apply Please share: Your counseling, therapy, social work, or mental health background. Any experience reviewing training content. Any experience with coaching, financial stress, trauma-informed communication, or scope-of-practice boundaries. Your estimated timeline and hourly rate.
