Course Content Editor & Presentation Designer
Worldwide
I'm looking for an experienced course content editor and presentation designer to take an existing business course from a comprehensive first draft through to a polished, presentation-ready final product. This is not simply a proofreading or slide design project. I'm looking for someone who can take ownership of the project end-to-end: deeply understand the material, refine and optimise the course content, identify gaps or missed opportunities, and then strategically translate the finished course into exceptional slide decks and supporting resources. The project The course is aimed at experienced business owners and consists of approximately 12 modules, with individual lessons and supporting resources. The first draft is already substantially written. The subject matter and core thinking are there, so I'm not looking for someone to write a course from scratch. What I need is someone who can take what's already been created and make it significantly better from both a learning and presentation perspective. The course will ultimately be delivered as pre-recorded video, with the written content acting largely as my presentation script. Part 1: Proofread, refine and optimise the course The first stage is to work through the entire course in detail and refine it from the perspective of the student. This includes: - Proofreading and improving the writing Improving structure, clarity and flow - Making the script feel natural and conversational when spoken aloud - Removing unnecessary repetition or complexity Identifying areas that need greater depth or explanation - Identifying gaps or missed opportunities within the curriculum - Making sure lessons connect logically to one another - Ensuring the course feels cohesive from beginning to end - Making the content highly actionable rather than simply educational - Identifying where examples, frameworks, resources, exercises or other additions would improve the learning experience - Identifying where supporting resources should be created The audience is sophisticated and will be making a significant financial investment in the programme and the additional coaching surrounding it. Because of this, I do not want the course oversimplified. It should feel comprehensive, thoughtful, sophisticated and genuinely useful while remaining easy to understand and implement. Part 2: Strategically develop the resources and slide decks Once the content has been refined, I need the same person to translate the entire course into a series of exceptional presentation decks. This is an important part of the brief. I'm not looking for someone who simply takes paragraphs from the script and places them onto slides. I want someone who can read and understand the course and strategically decide: - Where a slide is actually needed - What information should appear on screen - What should remain purely within the spoken presentation - Where a diagram would communicate something better - Where a framework or model should be visualised - Where a process should become a flowchart - Where data or concepts could be presented graphically - Where I could annotate or interact with something on screen while presenting The decks should feel premium and highly considered. I'm comfortable with them being relatively detailed or "nerdy" where appropriate. The goal isn't to simplify everything into generic three-bullet slides. The visual material should help sophisticated business owners properly understand the concepts being taught. Part 3: Supporting resources There are also a number of existing and proposed resources throughout the course. As part of reviewing the content, I'd like you to identify where additional resources would materially improve implementation and help develop these where appropriate. These could include: Worksheets Templates Checklists Frameworks Decision trees Process maps Scorecards Exercises Implementation guides Other practical tools These resources should ultimately follow the same visual system as the presentation decks so that the entire course feels like one cohesive product. Who I'm looking for The ideal person combines editorial judgement, instructional thinking and excellent presentation design. You should be comfortable taking ownership and making recommendations rather than simply waiting for detailed instructions from me. Experience with business education, course development, instructional design, copyediting or presentation design would be highly valuable. Most importantly, I want someone who can immerse themselves in a fairly substantial amount of material, understand what I'm trying to teach, and then help turn it into an excellent learning experience. I'd strongly prefer to work with one person or team across the entire project, rather than hiring separate contractors for proofreading, instructional design and slides. Timeline I'd ideally like the entire project completed within the next 3 to 4 weeks. I'm therefore looking for someone who has meaningful availability and can move quickly without compromising the quality of the work. When applying Please include examples of relevant work, particularly: - Courses or educational products you've helped develop - Presentation decks you've designed - Complex diagrams, frameworks or business concepts you've visualised - Worksheets or supporting learning resources you've created Please also briefly explain how you would approach this project from the initial content review through to the completed slide decks and resources, your expected timeline. Generic applications will be difficult to assess. I'm particularly interested in seeing evidence that you can handle both the content/learning side and the visual presentation side of the project.
