SaaS Product/UI Animation for Website Hero — Engineering Software I’m looking for an experienced motion designer/product animator to create a short, polished, seamless looping hero animation for XSection, a web-based structural engineering analysis platform. Production is expected to commence late next week, once the final plotting/UI updates currently in development have been deployed. The animation will replace the current static product graphic in the hero section of the XSection website and will be one of the first things visitors see. The objective is to show the actual XSection product and workflow — beginning with a simple reinforced concrete section and progressing to a significantly more complex engineering section and its analysis results. This is not a traditional promotional/explainer video, and I am not looking for a basic screen recording. I’m looking for a polished SaaS-style product animation using the real XSection interface, with appropriate cropping, zooming, transitions and motion design to make the software clear and visually engaging at website-hero size. Animation concept The expected duration is approximately 10-15 seconds, although I am open to recommendations on exact timing and pacing. Applicants are welcome to propose a slightly longer or shorter duration if they believe it will produce a stronger hero animation, but the final piece should remain concise and suitable for continuous autoplay. The animation should form a seamless continuous loop. Part 1 — Simple reinforced concrete section Begin with a simple rectangular reinforced concrete section. XSection has the following primary workflow: Design Inputs → Materials → Section Geometry → Reinforcement → Analysis → Results I would like this workflow/navigation to be visible during the animation so that the viewer understands XSection is a complete engineering application rather than simply a drawing canvas. It is not necessary to show detailed data entry in every stage. The simple-section sequence should progress approximately as follows: 1. Design Inputs Briefly show the populated design/code inputs. Individual values do not need to be typed on screen. 2. Materials Briefly show the configured concrete and reinforcement materials. 3. Section Geometry Show the rectangular concrete section on the actual XSection canvas. 4. Reinforcement Show reinforcement being generated/added to the section. It is not necessary to reproduce every mouse click. Reinforcement may be progressively revealed or animated if this produces a cleaner result. 5. Analysis Navigate to the actual XSection Analysis interface and briefly show the analysis selections. 6. Results Show a fast, polished progression through genuine XSection results: ULS N-M interaction diagram M-M interaction diagram The purpose of the first sequence is to communicate the simplicity of progressing from an everyday concrete section through to engineering results. Part 2 — Complex reinforced concrete section Transition smoothly from the simple rectangular section into a substantially more complex section. The intended example will likely be a reinforced concrete bridge box-girder section, containing multiple voids and a significantly more complex reinforcement arrangement. Show: Complex section geometry Multiple voids Complex reinforcement arrangement Analysis interface ULS results N-M interaction diagram M-M interaction diagram Where visually effective, I would also like to explore showing different biaxial analysis orientations/section rotations and the corresponding results. The complex sequence does not need to repeat Design Inputs and Materials for the same amount of time as the simple sequence. The emphasis here should be on the sophistication of the geometry, reinforcement and analysis capability. The two parts should therefore communicate visually: Simple section → ease of use Complex section → analysis capability Seamless loop At the end of the complex-section sequence, the animation should transition smoothly back into the original simple rectangular section. The beginning and end should be designed together so the animation can loop continuously without an obvious restart. Canvas framing, cropping and composition This is an important part of the project. The live XSection application is designed for use on a full desktop screen. Consequently, the canvas contains a significant amount of working space around the engineering section. I do not want a full-screen recording of the application simply scaled down into the website hero area, as this would make the important engineering content too small. The animation should be composed specifically for the website hero area. The animator is encouraged to use appropriate techniques such as: Cropping/reframing the canvas around the section Zooming into the section and reinforcement Removing unnecessary empty canvas space from the composition Smoothly transitioning between wider interface views and closer detail views Giving plots/results more of the available frame when they are being shown Repositioning captured application content within the composition where necessary The product should remain an authentic representation of XSection. The interface should not be redesigned to imply functionality that does not exist. Where the overall workflow is being demonstrated, enough of the interface/navigation should remain visible to establish context. The aim is for the important product content to remain large, clear and legible at website-hero size. Working with the actual XSection application The successful freelancer will receive 30-day access to the live XSection application and can work directly with the real product. I will also provide XSection JSON project files for the specific simple and complex sections to be used in the animation. These can be imported directly into XSection to reproduce the intended: Section geometry Materials Reinforcement Analysis configuration The imported files may initially display the completed model/reinforcement arrangement. It is not necessary to literally record the entire model being created from scratch. Elements may be removed/recreated within XSection where practical, or motion-design techniques may be used to progressively reveal them. The important requirement is that the geometry, reinforcement, interface and engineering results shown are genuine XSection content. Important requirements Use the actual XSection interface Show the XSection navigation/workflow where appropriate Include Design Inputs, Materials, Section Geometry, Reinforcement, Analysis and Results Do not spend significant time showing individual values being entered Use genuine XSection ULS, N-M and M-M results Explore biaxial orientations for the complex section where visually effective Do not include reporting functionality in this animation Do not add marketing slogans or promotional text within the animation Do not create a fictional/reimagined XSection interface The surrounding website already contains the headline, description and call-to-action The actual product should be the visual focus The animation should be designed specifically for the available hero area rather than being a scaled-down full-screen recording The final animation must loop seamlessly What I will provide I will provide: 30-day access to the live XSection application JSON project file for the simple section JSON project file for the complex section Existing XSection website and branding for reference Engineering/technical direction where required Feedback throughout development Engineering experience is not required. I am a structural engineer and can provide any technical direction required. XSection is currently in final development, with plotting functionality expected to be completed before animation production begins. Quality and deliverables Please provide: Approximately 10–15 second seamless looping animation 4K master-quality version Web-optimised version(s) suitable for the website hero WebM and MP4, or your recommended web formats Source/editable project files Appropriate responsive/cropped versions if recommended Reasonable revisions to refine timing, transitions and presentation The final web version needs to balance excellent visual quality with fast loading performance. My existing web developer will handle integration into the website, so website implementation is not required. I would, however, like your recommendation regarding appropriate web formats and export settings. Style I’m looking for: Modern SaaS product/UI animation Clean and professional presentation Technical rather than flashy Smooth, deliberate transitions High-quality motion design Seamless looping Consistency with the existing XSection website Strong emphasis on the actual software/product Proposal requirements — please provide fixed-fee pricing Please include examples of previous work involving SaaS product animations, UI/interface animations, software demonstrations or website hero animations. In your proposal, please provide: Your proposed approach to the animation Examples of relevant previous work Estimated turnaround time Software/tools you intend to use Recommended final web format Your fixed fee for completing the full scope described above Please provide a fixed-fee price rather than an hourly rate. I have intentionally not specified a project budget because I would like applicants to review the complete scope and provide their own fixed-price proposal based on the quality and approach they recommend.
