Create a Windows app icon

# App Icon Design — Ledge ## About the product Ledge is a small, fast Windows 11 desktop utility. It puts a thin strip at the edge of the screen where you can pin frequently-used folders and files, and temporarily park groups of files you're moving between places. Think of it as a shelf: things rest on it, and you pick them up again later. Audience: developers and power users on Windows. The product's positioning is **native, lightweight, precise** — not playful, not enterprise. ## The task Design the application icon and produce the full Windows asset set. ## Direction I've attached an AI-generated reference showing the composition I want. **Treat it strictly as a composition brief — do not trace or reuse it.** It is machine-generated, cannot carry assignable copyright, and the final work must be your original drawing. The concept: **two overlapping rounded cards resting on a wide horizontal shelf.** Style: soft-shaded vector. Subtle gradients, gentle contact shadows, generous corner radii. Not flat-design, not photorealistic. Palette (matches the app UI — please keep these as the base): - Shelf: amber `#F5A623`, darker amber for the front face/underside - Front card: blue `#2D7FF0` - Back card: deeper blue `#1F5FBF` - Glyph detail: light blue `#A9D0FB` ## Specific corrections to the reference 1. **Optical balance.** In the reference the stack sits left while the shelf extends right, so it leans. Balance the visual mass. 2. **Interior detail must be size-tiered.** The document glyph on the front card is a deliberate part of the design and should be present and crisp at 48px and above — it's what makes the card read as a file rather than an abstract shape. Below that, reduce it progressively rather than scaling it down: simplify at 48, reduce to a curled corner plus minimal linework at 32, curled corner alone at 24 and 20. At 16, provide **both** a curled-corner version and a plain version so we can compare at actual size and choose. Do not scale the full glyph into the small sizes — hand-draw each tier. ## Hard constraints - **Windows 11 Fluent style. Free-form silhouette — no rounded-square container, no macOS squircle.** - Must be legible and distinct at **16px**. This is the acceptance criterion, not a nice-to-have. - Must read clearly on **both light and dark taskbars**. - Must be visually distinct from Windows Explorer's icon at a glance. ## Small-size variants Do not downscale the master. Please **draw purpose-built variants** at 16, 20, 24 and 32px: - no glyph detail at 16/20 - larger offset between cards, thicker shelf - at 16px, consider reducing to a **single card plus shelf** if two cards merge into a blob ## Tray icon A separate monochrome glyph derived from the same silhouette, in **light and dark variants** (the app switches based on the Windows theme). Sizes 16, 20, 24. ## Deliverables - Layered vector source (Figma or Illustrator) - Master artwork at 1024px - Hand-tuned raster variants: 16, 20, 24, 32, 40, 48, 64, 256 - Multi-resolution **`.ico`** containing all of the above - Tray icons: light + dark, 16/20/24, PNG and ICO - Flat PNGs at 256 and 512 for website and store listing - Mockups of the final icon on a light taskbar and a dark taskbar, at actual size ## Rights Full copyright assignment on delivery, in writing. The icon will be used commercially as the product's primary trademark asset. Please confirm you can assign rather than license.
