Create a strong app icon/favicon for a consumer mobile app

We're Splice, a fibre internet provider in regional Australia, launching our consumer app on iOS and Android. We need an app icon that also works as a favicon across our web properties. This is icon artwork only, not a full logo or branding project. We have an existing logo (attached) and want the icon to stay as close to it as possible so everything feels like one cohesive brand. Think adaptation and simplification for small sizes, not reinvention. The brand is fun, playful and colourful, and the name plays on two fibre cables splicing together.
