Creative Book Cover Designer Needed for Kids’ Advent Bible Study

I’m looking for a creative book cover designer for a **25-day Advent Bible study for kids ages 8–12**. ### About the Book The book helps kids understand the **bigger Bible story behind Christmas**. Rather than beginning only with the Nativity, it starts with creation and sin, then follows God’s promises and rescue plan through the Bible to Jesus’ birth, why He came, His saving work, and the hope of His promised return. The goal is to help kids understand not only what happened at Christmas, but **why Jesus came and why Christmas is good news**. ### Three Possible Titles I currently have three favorite title concepts: **1. The Christmas Thread** **2. Christmas Unwrapped** **3. Why Christmas?** For this concept stage, we can use the same working subtitle: **A 25-Day Advent Bible Study for Kids to Discover the Bigger Story of Why Jesus Came** Each title could inspire a very different visual direction. I do not want the same cover three times with only the title changed. For example: **The Christmas Thread** could explore the idea of one visual thread, path, or connecting element running through the larger Bible story. **Christmas Unwrapped** could explore revealing, opening, unfolding, or discovering the deeper meaning behind Christmas. It does not need to literally show a wrapped present. **Why Christmas?** could build the design around curiosity and the question itself. These are only starting points. I would love to see your own creative interpretation. ### Paid Concept Test I’m offering a **$20 paid concept test** as the first step. I am **not expecting finished book covers for $20**. I’m looking for rough but thoughtful visual concepts that show your creative direction, composition, typography, illustration approach, and overall idea. Ideally, I would love to see concepts for **all three titles**. However, two strong concepts are also completely fine. If you prefer to focus on only one, that is okay too, but that one concept should be especially strong and well thought out. The goal is to find the strongest **title + visual concept combination** and the right designer to develop it into the final cover as a separate paid project. ### Visual Direction I’ve attached several book covers as visual references. Please **do not copy any of them**. They are only there to show the level of creativity, artistic quality, and visual integration I like. What I especially love is when a cover feels like **one complete piece of artwork** rather than a title placed above a separate illustration. I like covers where: * typography and illustration interact with each other * visual elements move around, behind, through, or between the title * the title itself can become part of the artwork * there are thoughtful details throughout the composition * everything feels harmonious and intentionally art-directed * the cover feels distinctive, illustrated, premium, and beautiful * the design remains clear and recognizable as a small Amazon thumbnail The references are about the **level of creative integration**, not about matching one particular illustration style. The cover should have a recognizable **Christmas / Advent atmosphere**, but I do not want a generic manger scene surrounded by Christmas decorations. The book tells a much larger biblical story, so the visual concept can go far beyond Bethlehem alone. I want something beautiful enough that a parent notices it, intriguing enough that they want to understand the concept, and visually engaging enough that a child wants to pick it up. ### Important **No generative AI or AI-generated artwork whatsoever.** Please do not use AI for concept artwork, illustrations, typography, backgrounds, visual elements, or the final cover. I am specifically looking for original human-created design and illustration work. If we continue to the final cover, I will also need the **fully editable source files** used to create the cover, along with the final print-ready files.
