Creative Director / Art Director for Dutch Football Streetwear Brand
Worldwide
About the project I'm working on a new Dutch football-inspired streetwear brand and I'm looking for a creative person who can help shape the visual identity and creative direction from the ground up. The brand is rooted in Dutch football culture, iconic football memories and nostalgia, but the ambition is to translate that into something that feels relevant to modern fashion and streetwear. The goal is not to create traditional football merchandise. Think: football culture × Dutch identity × nostalgia × contemporary streetwear I already have the concept and the first T-shirt design, but I don't consider myself a creative or designer. I'm an entrepreneur, and I know what I want the brand to mean. What I'm missing is someone who can translate that into a strong visual world. This is where you come in - I'm looking for someone who can take creative ownership. - I don't want to give you a strict list of fonts, colours and layouts and ask you to execute them. Quite the opposite. I want you to look at the concept and tell me: - "This is what I think this brand should look and feel like." - You are free to challenge what I've already created. You can: redesign the logo rethink the visual identity change the typography explore different colours develop the graphic language reinterpret the existing T-shirt develop the photography direction create the social media aesthetic influence the website direction suggest packaging and campaign ideas completely change the current creative direction if you think it would make the brand stronger Nothing is fixed. The core idea and first product are the starting point — not the final answer. The creative challenge The brand is connected to Dutch football, but I don't want it to look like a football merchandise company. I want to explore the space between: - Football culture - Dutch identity - Streetwear - Fashion - Nostalgia - Youth culture - Visual storytelling It should feel like something people would genuinely want to wear even if they didn't know the football story behind it. The football connection should make the clothing more meaningful — not make it look like merchandise. What I want to see For the initial project, I want you to develop your interpretation of the brand. This could include: Creative direction / moodboard Visual identity direction Logo exploration Typography Colour direction Graphic language Photography / campaign direction Instagram direction Product presentation 1–2 example campaign/social concepts I'm not looking for a massive finished brand book. I'm primarily interested in your creative thinking and visual taste. Who I'm looking for You might call yourself: Creative Director Art Director Brand Designer Fashion Designer Visual Designer Graphic Designer Creative Strategist The title doesn't matter much to me. Your portfolio and your taste matter much more. I'm particularly interested in people who have worked with: Fashion Streetwear Football / sports Music Youth culture Lifestyle brands Editorial projects You don't need to have worked with huge brands. I'm more interested in someone with a distinctive creative eye. How I'd like to work I'm deliberately looking for someone who can think independently. I don't want to micromanage the creative process. I'll provide the initial concept, product and context, and then I want to give you room to interpret it. If you think something I've created is weak, tell me. If you think the logo should be completely different, show me. If you think I'm approaching the brand in the wrong way, challenge me. That's exactly what I'm hiring you for. Initial project I'd like to start with a small paid creative exploration. This is intentionally a test for both of us. I'd like to understand: What do you see when you look at this concept? If we have a strong creative fit, there is potential for ongoing work as the brand develops. To apply Please send: 1. Your portfolio 2. Your price for the initial creative exploration 3. A short introduction 4. Tell me in a few sentences: How would you approach creating a modern streetwear brand rooted in Dutch football culture without making it feel like football merchandise? 5. Show me 3 projects from your portfolio that best represent your personal creative taste. Please don't send a generic proposal. I'm much more interested in your eye and your ideas than your CV.
