# Creative Video Editor / Motion Designer Needed for 40-Second Interactive Experience Intro We’re looking for a highly creative **video editor / motion designer** to help turn an existing concept into a polished 40-second opening sequence for an interactive digital experience. The most important thing we’re hiring for is **creative direction, visual storytelling, pacing, and editing taste**. You do **not** need to be an expert in AI-generation tools. We have access to AI tools and can generate images, characters, video clips, voice, sound effects, backgrounds, or other assets as needed. If there is something you want for the edit, you should simply be able to tell us what needs to be created and we can help generate it. If you already use AI tools yourself, that is a plus, but it is not a requirement. ## The project We want to create a roughly **40-second intro sequence** that feels like the opening of a: * premium interactive film * modern game or game show * high-end digital experience * cinematic title or onboarding sequence It should immediately make the viewer feel like: “I’m about to enter something.” This should **not** feel like a traditional corporate explainer video or software tutorial. We already have: * an existing visual language * screenshots and UI assets * some scene concepts * key messages that need to be communicated * visual references we like * ideas around sound and pacing What we need is someone who can take a step back, think creatively, and turn those ingredients into something much stronger. ## What we need from you You would help us figure out things like: * What should happen visually from second 0 to second 40? * What should be revealed first? * How should text enter and leave the screen? * How can static screens feel alive? * When should we cut versus transition? * Which moments deserve a sound hit? * Where should imagery, UI, typography, or characters take over the frame? * How can the sequence feel cinematic without becoming slow? * How do we make the viewer immediately want to continue? We want someone who brings ideas, not just someone who waits for exact editing instructions. For example, we want you to be comfortable saying: “Instead of fading these three images in, I’d reveal them one at a time like contestants.” or: “This scene needs a close-up here, then the UI should take over the frame.” or: “We need a 2-second generated clip of this object moving toward camera. Can you generate that for me?” That type of collaboration is exactly what we’re looking for. ## AI assets You do not need to personally generate every asset. If you need: * a specific person or character * a different camera angle * a short video clip * an environment * an object * a voice line * music * sound effects * an image variation you can specify what you want, and we can generate the asset using our AI tools. If you do have experience with generative AI, great. Feel free to incorporate it directly into your workflow. But the primary skill we are evaluating is: **Can you conceive and edit an exceptional 40-second sequence?** ## Responsibilities Depending on your workflow, this may include: * developing the storyboard or visual treatment * proposing creative scene ideas * editing the final sequence * motion graphics * typography animation * animating existing UI and screenshots * compositing visual assets * transitions * timing and pacing * sound design * music selection or direction * directing what additional assets need to be generated * final polish and export ## Visual direction We are looking for something with the polish and intentionality of: * interactive films * game intros * game-show openings * cinematic title sequences * premium editorial motion design Think **experience first**, not marketing video. We do not want: * generic SaaS animation * template-driven motion graphics * corporate training aesthetics * cheesy stock-video transitions * excessive neon or futuristic AI imagery * a talking avatar sitting on screen for the entire sequence ## Ideal background You may be a: * motion designer * video editor * creative editor * title-sequence designer * brand motion designer * trailer editor * game or entertainment video designer Experience with After Effects, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, Blender, Cavalry, Cinema 4D, or similar tools is all relevant. Generative AI experience is optional. ## Deliverables * creative treatment or storyboard * approximately 40-second finished sequence * motion graphics and animation * sound design * final web-ready export * editable project or source files where applicable We expect some iteration while we refine the creative direction together. ## When applying Please send: 1. **2 to 5 pieces of work that best demonstrate your taste and editing ability.** We’re especially interested in cinematic motion design, title sequences, trailers, interactive experiences, games, entertainment, or premium product work. 2. Tell us **which example is most similar to the type of work you would do here and why.** 3. Briefly explain **how you approach turning a rough concept into a strong visual sequence.** 4. Tell us what editing or motion tools you use. 5. If you use generative AI, mention which tools. If you don’t, that is completely fine. 6. Your approximate timeline for producing a polished 40-second piece. We care much more about **creative taste, visual storytelling, and execution quality** than whether you already know every AI tool.
