Crowdfunding Specialist Needed to Assess, Set Up and Manage a Bamboo Toilet Roll Brand Launch I’m launching Oh Sheet, a new UK bamboo toilet roll brand selling 24-roll and 48-roll packs. The brand will be playful and cheeky, with a focus on product quality, value and giving something back. I’m looking for an experienced crowdfunding specialist who can first assess whether this is a realistic fit for crowdfunding, then set up and manage the campaign if there is a strong case for proceeding. I want an honest assessment of its potential, including reasons it might not work. Please don’t simply recommend launching a campaign without considering demand, platform suitability and the costs involved. About the project The funding would help bring our first production run to market, covering costs such as manufacturing, packaging and shipping. We are considering a charitable element, potentially donating a percentage of profits or making a fixed donation of money or products for each box sold. Nothing has been agreed yet. We need advice on a model that is meaningful, financially sustainable and suitable for the chosen platform. The product will be manufactured by a supplier under our brand. Part of your initial assessment should establish whether our product and level of customisation meet each platform’s eligibility requirements. What we need Feasibility assessment and platform recommendation • Assess whether a bamboo toilet roll launch is likely to attract crowdfunding support. • Research relevant campaigns, including successful and unsuccessful examples. • Recommend suitable platforms, such as Crowdfunder, Kickstarter or Indiegogo, explaining eligibility, costs and audience fit. • Explain what would make our campaign stand out in a competitive market. • Recommend a realistic funding target, timeline and launch budget. • Estimate how many backers we would need and how we could reach them, clearly stating your assumptions. • Assess whether crowdfunding offers an advantage over taking pre-orders through our own website. • Give us a clear recommendation on whether to proceed and what needs to be in place first. Campaign strategy and setup If we agree to proceed following the assessment: • Develop the campaign positioning, story and messaging. • Write and build the campaign page. • Plan reward tiers, early-backer offers and bundles. • Help calculate pricing so rewards cover product costs, fulfilment, platform fees, marketing and any charitable commitment. • Advise on the charity model and how to explain it accurately. • Identify the photography, graphics and video needed, and create these or coordinate their production within an agreed scope. • Prepare a launch schedule and a clear plan for attracting supporters before the campaign goes live. Launch and ongoing management • Manage the campaign throughout the agreed campaign period. • Coordinate promotion through relevant channels, which may include email, social media, paid advertising, PR and partnerships. • Monitor results and recommend improvements. • Manage campaign updates and backer questions, referring product or business decisions to us when needed. • Provide regular reports covering funds raised, backer numbers, marketing spend and performance. • Help organise the post-campaign handover, including backer information and fulfilment communications. Who we’re looking for Someone with practical experience launching and managing crowdfunding campaigns, ideally for physical consumer products, household goods or environmentally focused brands. You should be confident with campaign copywriting, reward pricing, audience building, budgeting and performance reporting. Experience with UK campaigns and charity-linked businesses would be useful. Please be clear about which parts you handle personally and which would require another freelancer or additional budget. How we like to work You’ll work directly with me, the founder. I can provide supplier information, product costs, samples and available brand materials. I’m looking for someone proactive who can take ownership of the agreed work, communicate clearly and give straightforward advice. I’d like a weekly progress update, with any urgent issues or decisions raised promptly.
