We are seeking a freelance sculptor to design an original flagship set (non-licensed IP) that will launch first, with the line built for future expansion. What We're Looking For Digital sculptor (ZBrush or equivalent) with a portfolio in character-driven fantasy miniatures Experience delivering print-ready files for resin casting / injection molding at chess-piece scale (Staunton benchmark: king height ~3.75–4.0", board squares ~2.0–2.25") Comfort working from a written design brief plus reference imagery, with iterative rounds of revision Prior work on a funded Kickstarter, licensed IP line, or manufacturer-partnered miniature range strongly preferred Ability to design a cohesive faction system (e.g., distinguishing two opposing sides through color, base styling, or silhouette) without requiring full re-sculpts per piece Scope of Work Flagship set: 32 pieces (two 16-piece factions) plus 1 bonus/display piece Deliverables: concept sketches for approval → 3D sculpts for full piece set → print-ready files → physical prototype coordination with manufacturer Staged/milestone-based engagement preferred, with payment tied to concept approval, sculpt rounds, and final delivery Timeline This engagement supports a broader 52-week launch plan, with flagship set design work needed in the near term to support prototyping and eventual licensing conversations.
