Summary

Build It, Ship It, Own It — Application & Infrastructure Contract / project-based · Remote We're small, we have paying customers, and we're still building the machine while it's running. We're building a marketplace for first-person data — egocentric video captured off a custom wearable camera — and licensing it to the labs training the next generation of AI. The device is real; we're mid-development with a manufacturing partner. The software holding this whole thing together is a Node/Express app duct-taped to Airtable, running off a .env file on somebody's laptop. No auth. No access control. We need someone to fix that. The job (Phase 1) Take the Participant Management Tracking System from prototype to production. Real database. Real auth and role-based access — internal team, employers, participants. PII and consent records handled like they matter, because they do. Live, in production, within a month. $25,000, paid on delivery (not including materials; just time). What comes with it: Own the infrastructure. Hosting, CI/CD, secrets, backups, monitoring — the unglamorous stuff that keeps you out of the incident log. Look hard at the market. Evaluate what's already out there, make a real recommendation — build, buy, or borrow — and build something that beats it. Engage on the hardware choices. We're developing a wearable camera with an ODM partner. Open questions: on-device storage, streaming vs. file transfer, IMU data, etc. We're looking for a blend of designing the hardware and keeping the manufacturer honest. Know it's one piece of three. Phase 2 is a corporate-facing interface, Phase 3 is for the data-wranglers. What we need from you You've shipped and owned production apps, databases, auth, cloud hosting, deployment, security. You've worked with connected hardware: device SDKs, BLE/Wi-Fi/USB pairing, firmware-to-app pipelines. You need to smell a bad spec before we sign it. Finally, you'll say when we're wrong — not just about the code, about the business. If you see us walking into a wall, tell us. $25,000. Production in 30 days. More work after, if this works.
