Seeking a developer to create a custom, gamified DJ simulator desktop application using Unity or Python. The project involves integrating MIDI and Mixxx to enhance audio processing capabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in audio processing and be able to deliver a high-quality, user-friendly application. The goal is to create a stripped-back, highly visual version of professional DJ software (like Pioneer Rekordbox/WeDJ) but integrated with an arcade-style scoring engine and custom hardware inputs. To save time on building a core audio engine from scratch, I recommend using the open-source Mixxx API/OSC engine running silently in the background to handle the audio decoding, pitch stretching, and beat-grid tracking, while your code powers the custom frontend UI and scoring systems. Preferred Tech Stack (Open to Recommendations): - Unity (C#): Highly preferred for handling UI animations, smooth waveform rendering, particle effects, and native MIDI plugins. - Python: (Using Pygame, PyQt, or Arcade, plus libraries like Mido and Librosa for audio/MIDI tracking). - Audio Backend: Integration with the open-source Mixxx backend via OSC/MIDI mapping.
