DaVinci Resolve Editor: Finish & Polish 5-Chapter Short-Form Series (DaVinci Cloud)

Job Description: We are a premium cultural food storytelling platform based in Melbourne, Australia, operating an agile, cloud-based post-production pipeline. We need a meticulous DaVinci Resolve editor to help us finish and polish our next restaurant episode. Everything will be hosted inside a shared DaVinci Resolve Cloud Project Library. We will have already completed the "rough story edit" using DaVinci's AI text tools. You are inheriting a locked narrative spine. Your job is to take this rough timeline and apply high-end social media polish. The Project Scope (What we provide): - The Rough Edit: 5 distinct short-form vertical (9:16) chapters (15s to 2.5 mins) laid out on the timeline. Note: The multicam is synced, but if a technical issue arises, we may ask you to re-sync the 2-camera tracks via audio waveform/markers. - The Assets: Intro Cards (featuring the signature dish beauty shot) and End Cards (featuring our overhead dining time-lapses) will be created for one edit (NB: To be used across all edits). All kitchen prep and shop B-roll clips will be cleanly organized in bins. - The Color-Coded Script: A text document mapping out the episode. Because the AI auto-transcription trips over niche cultural ingredients and foreign accents, we have highlighted the translation errors in Red. You will know exactly which words to manually fix in the subtitles. Your Tasks (The Deliverables): - Pacing & Smoothing: Perform ripple deletes to remove awkward pauses and "ums/ahs" to keep the pacing snappy. However, you must maintain natural storytelling pauses for emotional moments. Use DaVinci’s Smooth Cut transition (set to 2–4 frames) to seamlessly blend micro-cuts. - Camera Switching & B-Roll Overlay: Choose between the 2 camera angles to hide jump-cuts and keep the talking-head sections dynamic. Layer the corresponding kitchen and shop B-roll over the timeline to make the story visually engaging. - Graphics & Text Panels: Drop in our graphics based on template. Hook graphic at the start. Intro Card based on script. Question graphics (unspoken). End card. And generate the subtitles using our color-coded script to fix the AI translation errors, placing them inside our standard solid-background caption panels. - Note: Our in-house Director of Photography handles the final high-end color grade and final audio mastering. Your job is strictly technical polishing, smoothing, and asset placement. Requirements: - Highly proficient with DaVinci Resolve Multicam, Smooth Cut transitions, and text/shading macros. - Must work natively and seamlessly inside DaVinci Resolve Cloud Project Libraries. - Excellent English comprehension to accurately correct subtitle translation nuances based on our script notes. - Ability to hit a strict 2 business day turnaround once the cloud assets are assigned.
