Data Analyst - MySQL and Aurora

MySQL Data Analyst (Full-Time, PST Hours) We are seeking an experienced MySQL Data Analyst to support data extraction, reporting, analytics, and performance tuning for our SaaS platform in the wholesale finance and audit space. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to translate business requirements into optimized data queries and meaningful insights. MANDATORY MUST utilize new advancements with AI to dramatically speed up creation and maintenance of procedures as this is an extremely valuable tool! We are NOT interested in an agency and must be a contract DIRECTLY with the Individual we are working with. This role requires clear spoken and written English communication and the ability to work full-time during U.S. Pacific Time (PST), Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Responsibilities: • Write, optimize, and maintain MySQL queries and stored procedures • Analyze large datasets and generate reports/dashboards • Identify data inconsistencies and assist in cleansing/normalization efforts • Collaborate with internal team members to define reporting and data needs • Troubleshoot database issues, performance bottlenecks, and indexing strategies • Ensure high data accuracy and reliability across workflows • Document logic, processes, and findings clearly Requirements: • 3+ years of hands-on MySQL experience • Proven experience with complex joins, views, stored procedures, CTEs, triggers, and query optimization • Ability to read, understand, and improve existing SQL codebases • Strong analytical mindset and high attention to data accuracy • Ability to communicate clearly in English (spoken and written) • Must be available to work PST business hours (8am–5pm) Preferred Experience (Nice to Have): • Familiarity with audit, finance, or inventory-related data • Experience with SaaS platforms or business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, etc.) • Understanding of ETL workflows and data warehousing concepts Work Environment / Tools: • MySQL 8 (AWS RDS environment) • Git / Azure Devops / Slack • Secure remote desktop or VPN access to data systems How to Apply: Please include the following in your proposal: • A brief summary of your relevant MySQL experience • One or two examples of complex SQL queries you have written (you may redact sensitive info) • Confirmation that you can work PST hours • Your hourly rate We are looking to hire immediately for an ongoing role.
