Data Consolidation for MSSQL Database

We have a system that has a main user table (primary sub_id) and then numerous supporting tables for groups, subgroups, phonenumbers, etc. The issue is we have accounts that have duplicate users in the main user table that we would like to consolidate to one user profile. So combine the phone numbers, emails, groups, subgroups, etc. into one record. For example we could have Scott Smith and he has the following database records: user table: Scott Smith 1234 groups table ID: 1234 group_id: 5 ID: 1234 group_id: 6 ID: 1234 group_id: 7 phone table ID: 1234 phone: 555222333 comm_type: t (for text) user table: Scott Smith 2345 groups table ID: 2345 group_id: 8 ID: 2345 group_id: 9 phone table ID: 2345 phone: 555222444 comm_type: t (for text) user table: Scott Smith 3456 groups table ID: 3456 group_id: 10 phone table ID: 2345 phone: 555222444 comm_type: t (for text) Would like to develop an update query to combine all to the first user ID and deactivate the remainders by setting their profile's to active = '2' Resulting in the following: user table: Scott Smith 1234 groups table ID: 1234 group_id: 5 ID: 1234 group_id: 6 ID: 1234 group_id: 7 ID: 1234 group_id: 8 ID: 1234 group_id: 9 ID: 1234 group_id: 10 phone table ID: 1234 phone: 555222333 comm_type: t (for text) ID: 1234 phone: 555222444 comm_type: t (for text) Let me know if there is not clear and I can provide additional information.
