Design System Specialist (Figma Variables + Component Library) Needed

We're a digital solutions company delivering government and enterprise platforms. We're building an in-house design system on Untitled UI (Figma Pro + Variables), customized with our own design language to accelerate portal delivery with a lean team. We're looking for a specialist to help implement and scale the system. Creative direction, branding, and design standards will come from our team; your role is to execute, structure, and document the system to a high standard. You'll be responsible for: Implementing our design tokens as Figma Variables (colour, typography, spacing, radius, light/dark modes). Building and documenting a themed component library based on Untitled UI. Creating reference screens and 2-3 reusable portal templates. Structuring tokens and assets for developer handoff using Tokens Studio and/or Style Dictionary. Requirements Proven experience building and maintaining design systems in Figma. Strong knowledge of variables, tokens, component properties, Auto Layout, and interactive components. Experience working with Untitled UI or a comparable large-scale design system. Strong information architecture and token management skills. Ability to work within an established design language rather than introducing a new one. Nice to Have React and Tailwind CSS familiarity. Storybook experience. Accessibility (WCAG) knowledge. Experience with government, public sector, or enterprise products.
