UI/UX Designer (m/w/d)

Grainik is an early-stage AgTech marketplace connecting farmers, buyers, and supply chain players across Nigeria and Africa. Agriculture across the continent runs on broken, informal networks — farmers can't reliably reach buyers, buyers can't reliably source quality product, and everyone in between absorbs the risk. We're building the infrastructure to fix that: a marketplace that makes trade transparent, reliable, and scalable. We're pre-seed, moving fast, and building the founding team right now. This isn't a role at a company with a playbook already written — you'd be one of the people writing it. The Role We're looking for a Founding Product Designer to own the end-to-end product experience — from first wireframe to shipped UI, across both mobile and web. You won't be handed a spec and asked to make it pretty. You'll be in the room for product decisions, helping figure out what we should build, not just how it should look. This is an equity-only role — we're not able to offer salary yet. In exchange, you get real ownership (meaningful equity, not a token grant), influence over the product direction from day one, and a live, shipping product to build your portfolio around. What you'll do Own product design end-to-end: research, wireframes, prototypes, final UI Design across mobile and web, for users ranging from smallholder farmers to enterprise buyers Build our design system and component library from scratch as the product scales Work directly with the founding team on product strategy, not just execution Talk to real users — farmers, buyers, logistics partners — to inform design decisions Iterate fast; we ship and learn, not spend months polishing before launch What we're looking for 3–6 years of UI/UX experience, with a portfolio that shows real process — wireframes through final UI, not just polished shots Strong Figma skills Solid understanding of mobile and web design patterns, and how they differ Comfortable with ambiguity — early-stage means the problem isn't always well-defined yet Genuinely wants to build something long-term with a team, not just add a logo to a resume Bonus: interest in or experience with emerging markets, agriculture, or marketplace products What you get Meaningful equity in a company you're helping shape from the ground up Real ownership over product direction — your decisions ship A live, growing product for your portfolio, not a case study you had to invent Direct access to the founding team, no layers of approval Room to grow into a bigger design leadership role as we scale and raise
