DevOps Engineer

**Title:** Junior DevOps Engineer — Kubernetes CI/CD & Deployment Support **Read before applying:** This is a **junior-level, fixed-scope assignment estimated at 32 hours** (fixed contract only). We need a junior DevOps engineer to configure and document a reliable Kubernetes-based deployment workflow for a project-management platform. A Kubernetes cluster is already available; this assignment focuses on application deployment, CI/CD, operational basics, and handoff documentation—not building or administering the underlying cluster. ### Scope Set up the initial **Kubernetes Deployment, CI/CD & Observability** workflow: - Containerize the application services and prepare production-ready Dockerfiles - Create and configure Kubernetes manifests or Helm charts for application deployment - Configure Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets references, namespaces, and ingress or routing configuration - Set up readiness and liveness probes, resource requests/limits, and basic autoscaling configuration where appropriate - Create CI pipelines for linting, automated tests, image builds, and container-image publishing - Configure a basic CD workflow to deploy approved application builds to the existing Kubernetes cluster - Set up environment-specific configuration for development, staging, and production - Configure secure handling of secrets, environment variables, service credentials, and database connection settings - Add basic logging, health checks, and monitoring/alerting integration using the existing platform tools - Document deployment, rollback, release, troubleshooting, and handoff procedures ### Required Skills - Kubernetes fundamentals: Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and namespaces - Docker and container-image management - Git and CI/CD pipelines - GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar CI/CD tooling - Linux and shell scripting - Basic application monitoring, logs, health checks, and incident troubleshooting - Secure configuration and credential handling - PostgreSQL application connectivity and environment configuration ### Nice to Have - Helm or Kustomize - Experience deploying Python/FastAPI services - Kubernetes ingress controllers such as Nginx Ingress or Traefik - Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or similar observability tools - Argo CD, Flux, or GitOps workflows - Familiarity with cloud Kubernetes environments In your proposal, begin with: **“SCOPE CONFIRMED.”** To prove you read the job description.
