Developmental Editor (Children's & Teen Fiction)

We're looking for an experienced Developmental Editor for children's and teen fiction. This is hands-on editing: you make your revisions directly in the manuscript using track changes, not just leave comments or an editorial letter. We want an editor who fixes the text, not only flags what needs fixing. Scope: - Long-term cooperation - 1–3 books per month - Book length: 10,000–25,000 words - Genres: children's and teen fiction - Deadline per book: 1-2 week What you'll fix (directly in the text): - Plot holes and logic errors - Repeated phrasing or illogical sentences - Words that don't fit the situation - Character consistency and arcs - Pacing Rate: - 0.01 USD per word Qualifications: - Proven experience with developmental editing of children's / teen fiction - Comfortable editing directly in the document with track changes (implementing changes, not only commenting) - Strong grasp of story structure, pacing, character, dialogue, and age-appropriate voice - American English - Reliable deadlines and communication Please apply with: - Your CV and a portfolio with examples.
