Digital Artist – Landscapes, Illustration & World Building (Long-Term Freelance)

Environment & Character Artist – Long-Term Creative Partnership We're building an original illustrated world and are looking for the artist who will help bring it to life. This is not a one-off illustration project. We're looking for a long-term creative partner who enjoys creating immersive environments, memorable characters and artwork that rewards close inspection. The visual direction has already been established through an existing collection of artwork. Your role will be to expand that world while maintaining a consistent artistic language across future projects. Your work may include: Atmospheric landscapes Characters Botanical environments Architecture Symbolic objects Poster artwork Premium product artwork Digital artwork for web and print Every piece should feel like it belongs to the same world. We're looking for artwork that feels: Painterly rather than photographic Atmospheric Rich in detail Elegant Timeless Original We're particularly interested in artists who create work with strong atmosphere, visual storytelling and a distinctive artistic voice. About you You have excellent digital painting skills and understand composition, colour, lighting and visual storytelling. You enjoy creating worlds rather than isolated illustrations. You welcome feedback and enjoy collaborating throughout the creative process. You may use any professional creative tools or workflow—including AI-assisted tools—as part of your process. What matters most is your ability to create original, cohesive artwork and clearly demonstrate your artistic contribution. Initial commissioned project Rather than asking applicants to complete unpaid speculative work, shortlisted artists will each be commissioned to create an original concept piece. This first commission is intended to help us find the right long-term creative partner. Shortlisted applicants will be offered a paid initial commission (approximately US$300) before any ongoing work is discussed. Following the initial commission, we expect to continue working with one artist across future projects.
