Digital Catalogue Design for 250 Products

Adobe InDesign Catalogue Designer or equivalent Needed – 2,500 Products / Approx. 125 Pages PROJECT DESCRIPTION We are looking for an experienced catalogue designer and Adobe InDesign automation specialist to create a professional print and digital product catalogue. This is a large catalogue containing approximately 2,500 products. The planned layout will display around 20 products per page, resulting in approximately 125 product pages, excluding the cover, introductory pages, contents pages and other supporting sections. The successful designer must be comfortable managing large product databases, high volumes of images and automated catalogue production. This is not a standard brochure-design project. SCOPE OF WORK The project will include: Developing a professional catalogue design and page structure Creating Adobe InDesign master pages and reusable templates Aligning the design with our company branding and upcoming website Organising products into clear categories and sections Setting up Adobe InDesign Data Merge Importing product information from Excel or Google Sheets Batch processing and optimising approximately 2,500 product images Ensuring images have consistent sizing and presentation Automatically populating product information and images Checking product names, SKUs, prices and image matching Preparing the catalogue for commercial printing Creating an optimised digital PDF Completing final quality assurance PRODUCT INFORMATION The catalogue is expected to include: Product name SKU or product code Short product specification Price Product image Category information where applicable We will provide available product data, images, branding assets and reference material. Some spreadsheet clean-up, image filename mapping or asset linking may be required. Please quote any substantial database clean-up or data preparation separately from the main catalogue-design fee. REQUIRED DELIVERABLES Approved catalogue design concept Adobe InDesign master template Approximately 125 completed product pages Cover and agreed introductory pages Print-ready, high-resolution PDF Optimised digital PDF Packaged Adobe InDesign source files Linked and organised asset folders Optimised product-image library Data Merge source file and documented workflow Final quality-control report or checklist REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Applicants should have: Proven experience designing large product catalogues Advanced Adobe InDesign skills Practical experience with InDesign Data Merge Strong Adobe Photoshop batch-processing skills Experience preparing documents for commercial printing Knowledge of bleed, colour profiles, image resolution and prepress requirements Strong attention to detail when matching SKUs, prices, descriptions and images The ability to manage approximately 2,500 products without losing consistency Clear communication and reliable project management Experience with catalogues exceeding 100 pages will be strongly preferred. ESTIMATED TIMELINE The expected project duration is approximately six weeks: Asset review, planning and sample design: 1 week Image and data preparation: 2 weeks Catalogue production: 2 weeks Final review, corrections and delivery: 1 week The final schedule will depend on the condition and completeness of the supplied product data and images.
