Our work includes commercial litigation, corporate disputes, business transactions, real estate, succession planning, M&A, governance disputes, and complex problem-solving for business clients. We are building a legal team that combines strong legal judgment, excellent execution, disciplined project management, and advanced use of legal technology. Our five core values are integrity, excellence, coachability, ownership, and teamwork. We are looking for people who want to build real capability over time, not simply complete isolated tasks. Position Overview We are seeking a Digital Evidence & Litigation Technology Specialist to support our attorneys and litigation team with digital evidence review, forensic preservation, evidence organization, technical investigation support, and defensible documentation. This role is inspired by candidates with backgrounds in digital forensics, data recovery, mobile device analysis, email investigation, cloud evidence preservation, browser history analysis, malware/incident review, and litigation-support documentation. The ideal candidate does not need to be a U.S. lawyer, but must be highly careful, ethical, technically capable, and able to work under attorney supervision in legal matters. This is not a “hacker” role. We are looking for someone who understands evidence integrity, confidentiality, chain of custody, careful documentation, and the difference between technical investigation and unauthorized access. Core Responsibilities The specialist may assist with: 1. Digital evidence preservation, collection, organization, and documentation under attorney direction. 2. Reviewing and organizing electronic evidence from computers, phones, email accounts, cloud exports, text messages, PDFs, business records, and litigation files. 3. Preparing chain-of-custody logs, evidence inventories, collection notes, preservation summaries, and technical investigation reports. 4. Supporting attorneys in matters involving deleted files, device activity, email metadata, browser history, communication timelines, file transfers, suspicious access, data leakage, employee misconduct, fraud, or disputed digital records. 5. Assisting with email header review, communication timeline reconstruction, phishing/fraud indicators, and basic metadata analysis. 6. Supporting eDiscovery workflows, including document organization, issue tagging, evidence summaries, and attorney review preparation. 7. Assisting with Relativity/KLDiscovery workflows, including evidence upload organization, review protocol support, tagging logic, search-term testing, timeline-building, and potential use of Relativity aiR under attorney supervision. 8. Reviewing Otter Enterprise transcripts, deposition materials, recordings, exhibits, and related digital records for accuracy, organization, and litigation use. 9. Preparing clean, attorney-facing reports that explain technical findings in plain English. 10. Helping attorneys prepare for depositions, hearings, mediation, discovery disputes, and case strategy sessions where digital evidence is important. 11. Coordinating with outside vendors, forensic experts, eDiscovery providers, court reporters, and litigation support providers when directed. 12. Helping build repeatable RLF workflows for digital evidence preservation, forensic intake, litigation technology use, and technical evidence review. Required Qualifications Strong candidates should have: 1. Experience with digital evidence, data recovery, forensic review, cybersecurity investigation, eDiscovery, litigation support, or technical documentation. 2. Strong understanding of evidence integrity, chain of custody, confidentiality, and documentation discipline. 3. Ability to prepare clear written summaries, reports, timelines, and issue lists for attorney review. 4. Strong English communication skills. 5. High attention to detail and strong organizational judgment. 6. Ability to work carefully with confidential legal, business, financial, and personal information. 7. Comfort working in a fully remote law firm environment. 8. Willingness to follow attorney instructions, firm procedures, and legal-ethical boundaries. Preferred Qualifications Preferred but not required: 1. Digital forensics certification, cybersecurity certification, eDiscovery certification, or equivalent practical experience. 2. Experience with mobile device review, email investigations, cloud exports, browser artifacts, deleted-file recovery, or malware/incident analysis. 3. Experience supporting lawyers, law firms, corporate investigations, internal investigations, or litigation matters. 4. Familiarity with Relativity, Everlaw, Logikcull, DISCO, KLDiscovery, or similar eDiscovery platforms. 5. Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe/PDF tools, forensic reporting tools, metadata tools, or structured evidence databases. 6. Legal training, paralegal experience, or internationally licensed lawyer background. Technology Requirements You must have: 1. Reliable high-speed internet. 2. A computer capable of handling cloud-based legal tools, large files, video meetings, and AI-supported workflows. 3. Professional camera and microphone. 4. Quiet, distraction-free workspace. 5. Ability to attend meetings on camera from a computer, not only from a phone. RLF uses tools such as ClickUp, Zoom Chat, NetDocuments, Microsoft Office, Relativity, Bill4Time, QuickBooks where applicable, Otter Enterprise, and AI tools. We do not use Slack as our internal communication system. AI Usage Expectations RLF uses AI tools thoughtfully. The person in this role may use AI to assist with summaries, timelines, issue lists, evidence organization, and draft reports when appropriate. However, AI output must always be reviewed, verified, and corrected by a human before it is relied upon. Confidentiality rules must be followed at all times. Confidentiality, Ethics, and Boundaries This role requires strict confidentiality. Contractor may not use, disclose, retain, publish, or share any firm, client, case, or evidence information except as authorized by Rose Law Firm. All work product belongs to the firm. The contractor may not independently contact clients, opposing parties, courts, witnesses, vendors, or third parties unless expressly authorized. This role does not involve giving legal advice, making legal judgments, or acting as an independent expert witness unless separately approved and documented. What We Are Not Looking For We are not looking for someone who is casual with confidentiality, loose with documentation, uncomfortable following instructions, or interested in unauthorized access, hacking, or shortcuts. We are also not looking for someone who only wants isolated one-off tasks and does not want to learn our systems. Growth Opportunity For the right person, this role can become a long-term position supporting sophisticated litigation, corporate disputes, investigations, and legal technology workflows. Exceptional performers who embody RLF’s core values may be considered for increased responsibility, more hours, and a larger role within the firm’s litigation and legal technology infrastructure. How to Apply Please submit: 1. Your CV or resume. 2. A short cover letter explaining your experience with digital evidence, forensic review, litigation support, cybersecurity investigation, or technical evidence documentation. 3. Any certifications, training, or relevant project examples. 4.
