Dutch-Speaking Video Editor for Meta Ads (Ongoing)
Worldwide
We are Lovelia, a Dutch brand selling wireless comfort bras. Our customer is a woman aged 45+ who isn't shopping for lingerie, she's looking for relief: no underwire cutting into her, no chafing, no adjusting her bra all day. We advertise almost entirely on Facebook and Instagram and run new creatives continuously. We have UGC creators record our videos: real women from our target group who film the product at home, working from a brief and script we provide. Those recordings need to be edited into ads. That's what we're hiring for. Ongoing work, not a one-off project. WHY WE SPECIFICALLY WANT A DUTCH-SPEAKING EDITOR We see editing as one of the most important parts of our ads. Not as a task that gets executed at the end, but as the place where it's decided whether a video works or not. That's why we believe we'll get the best quality from someone who speaks the same language. Someone we can communicate with directly and clearly, who has a feel for how our audience talks, and who will think along with us over time instead of only executing. Our customers are Dutch women aged 45+ and the tone is delicate: one translated sentence or a slightly too American phrasing and the ad stops feeling real. You don't need to be a copywriter - you'll get clear instructions from us - but native-level Dutch is a requirement. And if you already know what works, your own input on top of that is exactly what we want. HOW WE WORK: IN BATCHES We work in batches. One batch = 3 videos of the same edit, where only the hook changes: the first few seconds, the opening line and the on-screen text. The rest of the video stays identical. That's how we test which opening works. So you build one solid edit and then deliver two variants with a different hook. We run several batches per week, ongoing. SIMPLE EDITING, NO FLASH Important to know up front: we deliberately want simple edits. No rapid cuts, no zoom effects every second, no transitions, no dramatic music. Our audience sees straight through that, and then the ad feels like an advertisement instead of a real experience. We want to come across as normal. Calm pacing, real people, clear subtitles, and as little else as possible. The quality is in the structure and the rhythm, not in the effects. This isn't a guess, it's a proven base: over the past four months we've done more than 30,000 orders with this approach. So you're not starting from zero. You get a format that works, and your job is to build on it and make it better. Want to see what we mean? Just say so and I'll send over a few of our videos as examples. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING - Editing batches of 3 short-form ads (15-45 sec, 9:16) from the UGC footage we supply, plus product shots and existing ads. - Creating three hook variants per batch: different opening, different opening line, different on-screen text. - Dutch subtitles: auto-generated and then checked by hand. Error-free and easy to read on mobile - around 92% of our viewers are on their phone. - Simple text overlays, music and audio levels, and b-roll where needed. WHERE WE WANT THIS TO GO We start with clear instructions per batch, but that's the starting point, not the end point. Where we want to end up is an editor who knows what works and what converts. Someone who after a few months - preferably sooner - no longer needs a shot-by-shot brief, but decides for themselves which take is strongest, which part can go, which hook fits which story, and who makes adjustments on their own when something can be better. Someone who looks at the numbers from the last batch and adjusts the next one accordingly. So we're looking for creativity and real input, and someone who edits based on performance rather than on instinct alone. The longer we work together, the more freedom and responsibility you get. If that's what you're after, we're the right client for you. WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH You'll be managed directly by the owner of the brand. No layer in between and no creative strategist passing on briefs - I do that role myself at the moment. So you're dealing with someone who knows the product, the audience and the numbers inside out, with short lines and quick answers to your questions. We're outsourcing our work step by step and you're one of the first steps in that. In time there will probably be a team around this, but we're building that up calmly and in the right order. WHAT WE PROVIDE - All UGC footage and other material via Google Drive. Raw files, usually several takes per creator. - The script, the three hook lines per batch, and exactly what needs to change. - A brand brief with our rules, fonts, logo, and examples of videos that performed well. - Feedback on how your videos performed, so you can adjust. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Native Dutch (Netherlands or Belgium). - Demonstrable experience with ads that convert. We're not looking for a beginner who makes beautiful footage, but for someone who understands that a video has to sell - and that most of that is decided in the first three seconds. - Experience with short-form ads or social content. - Fast and consistent. We test a lot, so speed and reliable deadlines matter more than cinematic perfection. - Able to work independently from a brief and deliver cleanly: clear file names, correct formats. A big plus: if you can show results from videos you've edited - CTR, ROAS, how much was spent, how long an ad ran, or what the client reported back. The numbers don't have to be perfect, but someone who tracks them thinks about performance instead of just editing. That's exactly what we want. WHAT WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR - Agencies or resellers who outsource the work. - Heavily processed "hype" edits full of effects and stock music. - Editors who drop in auto-generated subtitles without checking them. VOLUME AND PAY We run several batches per week, ongoing. Our preference is a fixed price per batch rather than an hourly rate: the first edit plus two hook variants of it. Tell us in your proposal what you charge for that. On top of that we work with bonuses for winning videos. If a video you edited performs well, you share in what we spend on it - think a percentage of the ad spend. We'll work out the exact setup together. The reason is simple: we want someone who grows with us and doesn't hit a ceiling on what they can earn. The better your videos perform, the more we spend on them and the more you take home. If you'd rather structure the collaboration differently - a fixed monthly amount, an hourly rate, or another setup - we'd like to hear it. That's open for discussion. If it works for both sides, we're open to your proposal. The budget on this job is the paid test batch. If it works out on both sides, we'll set up a fixed arrangement. HOW TO APPLY Please skip the template cover letter. Tell us briefly: 1. Your motivation: why this job fits you. 2. Your experience. 3. Your 3 best videos - the three you're proudest of or that performed best. 4. The results of those videos, if you have them. That would be perfect. Also answer the questions below briefly.
