Summary

ESGIQ is developing a professional five-part YouTube series explaining how a carbon-market expert reviews and develops a carbon-project risk framework. We are seeking a skilled 2D/2.5D character animator and motion designer to produce five connected videos, each approximately 60–90 seconds long. ABOUT THE SERIES The series follows the work of our carbon-market expert, Avner, as he: * reviews candidate carbon-risk features; * compares definitions, technical implementation and source evidence; * determines what information was genuinely available at the investment date; * develops transparent and reproducible scoring rules; * applies those rules to historical carbon projects; and * prepares the completed framework for wider historical validation. The subject is technical, but the videos must communicate it through clear visual storytelling rather than dense presentations or generic corporate animation. CREATIVE DIRECTION The videos will feature one consistent character based on our consultants The required style is: * lifelike and professional; * restrained and editorial; * visually consistent across all five videos; * appropriate for financial, technical and institutional audiences; and * more like an animated documentary or illustrated editorial film than a conventional cartoon explainer. We do not want: * generic AI-avatar video; * synthetic talking-head presentation; * whiteboard animation; * stock explainer characters; * exaggerated cartoon movement; * excessive lip-sync; or * visibly inconsistent AI-generated scenes. Artificial voice cloning is not required and must not be used without express written permission. We prefer subtle, natural animation such as: * eye and head movement while reading; * writing, highlighting and turning pages; * reviewing project evidence; * comparing documents and definitions; * entering findings into a controlled register; * moving between document and platform screens; and * realistic camera, lighting and environmental movement. The production will also require high-quality motion graphics showing documents, evidence passages, data, feature classifications and platform-interface elements. PROPOSED FIVE-VIDEO SERIES 1. 146 Features to 10 Reviewing and challenging the proposed carbon-risk features. 2. Building the Scoring Rules Turning expert judgement into transparent and reproducible rules. 3. Testing Without Hindsight Applying and locking assessments using only evidence available at the defined investment date. 4. Five Projects, Five Evidence Trails Applying the framework across different carbon-project types and identifying evidence gaps. 5. Freezing the Framework Finalising the expert framework so it can be operationalised and tested on a wider historical dataset. Scripts and technical source material will be provided. The animator will be expected to translate them into clear storyboards and engaging visual sequences. DELIVERABLES The assignment should include: * storyboard for each video; * initial style frames for approval; * custom, reusable Avner character design or rig; * consistent environments and visual assets; * five finished videos of approximately 60–90 seconds each; * 1920 × 1080 YouTube format; * document, data and platform-interface animation; * captions and on-screen text; * commercially licensed music and sound design; * two revision rounds per video; * final YouTube-ready MP4 files; * editable project files, character rig and source assets; and * confirmation of commercial usage rights for all supplied materials. The successful freelancer must not reuse video, character likeness, voice, documents or project materials for other clients, generative-model training or portfolio promotion without written permission. PRICING REQUEST Please quote separately for: 2. the first pilot video and reusable visual system; 3. the remaining four videos; 4. any optional professional voiceover work; 5. any optional lip-sync work; and 6. any additional aspect-ratio versions, if offered. Please state exactly what is included in your quotation, including revision rounds, source files, music licences and commercial usage rights. APPLICATION QUESTIONS Please answer each of the following: 1. Which example in your portfolio is closest to the style requested here? Please provide a direct link and explain why it is relevant. 2. Would you create a custom character and rig for Avner, or use an existing template? 3. How would you keep Avner’s appearance consistent across five videos and multiple scenes? 4. How would you create natural head, eye, hand and working movements without making the character look like a synthetic talking avatar? 5. Can you animate documents, evidence highlights, data visualisations and platform interfaces? Please provide relevant examples. 6. Would any part of the production use generative AI? If so, identify the tools and explain exactly where and how they would be used. 7. Can you guarantee that the supplied reference image, documents and likeness will not be used to train any generative system? 8. Will the editable character rig, animation files and source assets be included in the final delivery? 9. Are all music, fonts, stock assets and visual elements licensed for commercial YouTube use? 10. How many revision rounds are included? 11. What would you charge for the paid 5–10 second test? 12. What would you charge for the pilot and for the complete five-video series? 13. What production schedule would you propose for the test, pilot and remaining four videos? REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Strong applicants should demonstrate experience in several of the following: * 2D or 2.5D character animation; * motion graphics; * editorial or documentary-style animation; * professional explainer videos; * Adobe After Effects; * Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Character Animator or equivalent; * storyboarding; * character design and rigging; * document and user-interface animation; * compositing; * video editing; and * sound design. Please do not submit a general proposal without answering the application questions. Applications showing relevant character-led professional storytelling will be prioritised. Please also send your portfolio/examples of your work.
