Square WordPress Website Developer Needed for Cat Lounge – E-Commerce, Reservations, Donations & More We are looking for an experienced web developer/designer to create a professional, functional, and visually appealing website for our new cat lounge. Our website will be the backbone of our business and one of the primary ways people interact with us. Customers and supporters will be directed to the website to learn about the lounge, book and pay for reservations, view adoptable cats, complete applications, make donations, contact us, and more. Because of this, we are looking for someone who can put real thought and care into both the functionality and overall design of the site. Platform We plan to use WordPress and Square for our website, payments, and reservations/booking system. Experience building websites within the Square online ecosystem is strongly preferred. We would also appreciate guidance on the best way to structure certain features within Square rather than simply building exactly what we request if there is a better or more efficient solution. The website will need to include: • Home Page – An attractive, welcoming introduction to the cat lounge and our mission. • Reservations / Booking – Customers should be able to view availability, reserve a time to visit the lounge, sign a liability waiver, and pay for their reservation. • Available Cats & Kittens – A dedicated section featuring cats currently available for adoption, including their photos, names, descriptions, and other relevant information. It is very important that this section is easy for us to update ourselves, as cats will be added and removed frequently. • Adoption – Information about our adoption process and a clear link to our adoption application. • Foster – Information and a link to our foster application. • Volunteer – Information and a link to our volunteer application. • Transport – Information and a link to our transport application. • Donations – A dedicated area where supporters can easily make monetary donations. • Shop / E-Commerce – Ability to sell merchandise and other items through Square. • About / Mission – Information about who we are, what we do, and our mission. • FAQ / Visitor Information – Important information customers should know before visiting. • Contact – An easy way for customers, adopters, fosters, volunteers, and supporters to contact us or be directed to the appropriate resource. • Social Media Integration – Links to our social media accounts throughout the website where appropriate. We are open to recommendations for additional pages, features, or organization that would improve the customer experience. Design: Functionality is extremely important, but we also care greatly about the appearance of the website. We want the finished site to feel thoughtfully designed, cohesive, professional, welcoming, and aesthetically pleasing rather than looking like a basic Square template with our information inserted into it. Our cat lounge has an established branding direction, and we can provide our logo, colors, photographs, inspiration, and other brand materials. The website should also be designed and tested for both desktop and mobile use. Ease of Management: Once the website is completed, we need to be able to manage routine updates ourselves without relying on a developer every time something changes. In particular, we need to easily: • Add, edit, and remove available cats and kittens • Update photos and descriptions • Update general website information • Manage reservations/availability • View payments and orders • Update merchandise/products • Change application links when necessary We would appreciate either a walkthrough at the end of the project or simple instructions showing us how to manage these areas. What We're Looking For: • Experience designing and developing Square/Square Online websites • Experience with Square Appointments or another appropriate Square booking solution • Experience integrating online payments and e-commerce • Strong visual/web design skills • Experience designing responsive mobile websites • Excellent attention to detail • Good communication throughout the project • The ability to recommend solutions rather than simply following a template • Experience creating websites for small businesses, nonprofits, animal organizations, hospitality businesses, or other customer-facing businesses is a plus When Applying please include: Examples of websites you have personally designed or developed, especially Square websites. We are looking for someone who understands that this website will be a major part of our business and can create something reliable, intuitive, polished, and beautiful that we can continue using as the cat rescue grows.
