K-8 Educational Sales Representative
Worldwide
K–8 Educational Sales Representative | Full-Cycle School Sales | HubSpot $1,500/month base (20 hrs/week) + $500 per qualifying cohort closed with a new school — uncapped Whiz Kid Academy (WKA) is seeking an experienced Educational Sales Representative to grow our partnerships with elementary and middle schools. WKA provides hands-on STEM enrichment programs for K–8 students, including after-school, in-school, and family engagement programming. We currently serve 1,000+ students annually across 34+ school and district partners. This is a FULL-CYCLE school sales position. This is not an appointment-setting role and does not involve parent-paid programs. You will be responsible for developing school-funded business and managing opportunities from: Prospecting → Outreach → Discovery → Presentation → Proposal → Follow-Up → Close → Purchase Order We are looking for someone who already understands education sales and can build relationships with school decision-makers, navigate longer sales cycles, follow up persistently, and convert opportunities into school-funded contracts. What You’ll Do • Prospect and identify K–8 schools with funding potential for enrichment programming • Research and connect with the appropriate school decision-makers • Conduct outbound phone and personalized email outreach • Build relationships with principals, assistant principals, Community School Coordinators, district leaders, after-school/extended-learning leaders, and other decision-makers • Re-engage WKA’s warm leads, previous prospects, and stalled opportunities • Conduct discovery calls to understand programming needs, funding, timelines, and purchasing processes • Present WKA programs and recommend appropriate solutions • Identify whether funding is available • Prepare and coordinate proposals and quotes • Follow up consistently after meetings and proposals • Handle objections and navigate school purchasing/procurement processes • Move approved programs through the Purchase Order (PO) process • Close new school-funded partnerships • Maintain complete and accurate records in HubSpot • Provide regular pipeline updates and forecasts You’ll have two sources of opportunity: • An existing WKA HubSpot pipeline of warm and previously engaged prospects • New schools you identify and prospect within approved WKA territories Once a new school is closed, follow-up for additional cohorts or renewal POs is handled by WKA leadership. Your primary focus remains finding and closing new schools. Territory Our primary sales territory for this role is: Maryland & Washington, DC The initial focus will be developing new school-funded partnerships throughout Maryland and Washington, DC, including districts such as BCPS, PGCPS, MCPS, AACPS, FCPS, Baltimore City Public Schools, and DC Public Schools (DCPS). Candidates with established school or district relationships in this territory are encouraged to tell us about those relationships during the interview process. HubSpot Experience Is Strongly Preferred WKA provides a licensed seat in our HubSpot Sales Hub instance, which will be your system of record for all contacts, companies, deals, and outreach activity. Hands-on HubSpot CRM experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with significant education sales experience using another major CRM may also be considered; however, you must be comfortable transitioning to HubSpot immediately and using it consistently as WKA’s system of record. You must be comfortable independently: • Managing contacts and companies • Creating and updating deals • Moving opportunities through pipeline stages • Logging calls, emails, meetings, and notes • Creating follow-up tasks • Tracking outreach and engagement • Managing next steps • Tracking proposals and expected contract values • Maintaining accurate close dates • Keeping the pipeline clean and current We should be able to open HubSpot at any time and immediately understand where every school stands, the most recent interaction, the value of the opportunity, and the next action required. WKA will also provide access to the tools used for day-to-day calling and email outreach. You will not need to use personal accounts for prospecting. School Sales Experience Is REQUIRED Candidates must have direct experience selling programs, products, or services to schools and/or school districts. Relevant experience may include: • K–8 educational sales • STEM/STEAM programs • After-school or expanded-learning programs • Curriculum • EdTech • Tutoring or academic intervention • Student enrichment • Family engagement programming • Educational services • Other school-funded programs You should already understand that school sales can involve multiple decision-makers, budgets, funding restrictions, vendor requirements, procurement, quotes, approvals, and Purchase Orders. The sales cycle from first contact to PO can commonly take 4–12+ weeks, depending on the school or district’s procurement process. We need someone who knows how to build and manage a pipeline accordingly—not someone expecting every opportunity to close quickly. Compensation $1,500 Monthly Base + Commission This is a remote independent contractor opportunity requiring approximately 20 hours per week. In addition to the $1,500 monthly base, you will earn: $500 per qualifying cohort included in the initial PO from a new school you close. There is no stated cap on the number of qualifying commissions that can be earned. Example: A qualifying new school issues a PO for one $5,300 cohort — you earn $500. If the school’s initial PO includes two cohorts — you earn $1,000. Commission applies only to cohorts included in the initial PO that brings on the qualifying new school. Cohorts added later through a separate or renewal PO do not qualify unless otherwise approved by WKA. When Is Commission Earned? A sale is considered closed for commission purposes only when Whiz Kid Academy receives an official Purchase Order (PO) from the school or school district. A verbal commitment, scheduled program, accepted proposal, email confirmation, or statement that the school intends to move forward does not constitute a closed sale. No PO received = commission has not yet been earned. What Qualifies as a New School? For commission purposes, a qualifying new school is a school that has not purchased programming from Whiz Kid Academy within the previous 12 months. This means a former WKA school that has not purchased programming within the prior 12 months may qualify as new-school business if the sales representative personally develops and closes the opportunity. Note: If WKA leadership independently re-engages a lapsed school outside the sales representative’s own prospecting and outreach, that opportunity does not qualify for the representative’s new-school commission unless WKA specifically assigns the representative to develop and close it into a PO. Renewals from active WKA schools do not qualify unless otherwise approved by WKA. Complete commission terms will be included in the contractor agreement before work begins. Your First 90 Days During your first 90 days, we expect you to: • Learn WKA’s programs, pricing, positioning, and target customer • Become proficient with WKA’s HubSpot pipeline and sales processes • Actively work assigned warm and stalled opportunities • Establish a consistent outbound prospecting and follow-up cadence • Develop new K–8 school opportunities within MD/DC • Develop a working knowledge of common school funding sources and identify likely funding pathways during prospect qualification • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of school-funded opportunities • Conduct discovery meetings • Generate proposals and quotes • Consistently advance opportunities through the sales process • Begin converting qualified opportunities into Purchase Orders Because school sales cycles can take 4–12+ weeks, early performance will be evaluated on both pipeline development and closed business. Schedule This is a flexible remote contract role requiring approximately 20 hours per week. The majority of prospecting, calling, and school-facing activity must take place during U.S. school business hours. We’re focused on results, pipeline development, and revenue, not simply hours online. How Success Will Be Measured Key performance indicators include: • Qualified school opportunities generated • Decision-makers reached • Discovery meetings completed • Proposals/quotes generated • Total qualified pipeline value • Follow-up consistency • Proposal-to-close conversion • New school-funded contracts • Purchase Orders received • Revenue generated Ultimately, success means consistently turning qualified K–8 school opportunities into school-funded WKA contracts. To Apply Please answer ALL of the screening questions: Please begin your proposal with: K–8 SCHOOL SALES Applications that do not answer the questions above may not be considered.
